Very disappointing!
Reviewed By 832beverleypWhat a disappointment especially given the cost! The rooms are very outdated and the bed is probably one of the worst I have slept in. They could do with investing in some decent pillows instead of the almost flat and poor quality ones they currently have. Likewise some new linen would go down well. The room was very spacious and spotless and clean but the bathroom had a fusty smell. Breakfast was plentiful and at €10 euros pretty reasonable. However we were charged for wifi! Who charges for wifi these days really! Won’t be going back.

Located in Salles-sur-Verdon, our hotel has a terrace with a panoramic view of Lake Sainte-Croix and the surrounding Verdon natural park. Reviewed By Steve CGreat place to stay, really friendly staff and the whole environment is excellent. I have seen some criticize the rooms but it's a 2 star auberge! Bed was very comfy and everywhere is so clean, perfect in my book. Outside terrace is huge and welcoming, bar service is swift. We dodnt eat here so cant comment on the food, but we saw looked good

Reviewed By laradela8In our vancamping holidays in France, my partner got an urgent job to do. We decide to book a hotel for one night to have a desk and a good internet conection for some hours. We booked in Booking.com this hotel because had WIFI in the description. The surprised was when the receptionist told us in the check-in, the WIFIi has not enough power and we should use our phones. Which was a mission imposible because our room was in the ground and no conection at all. We told them our special situation,and if we could find a solution to be able to work. The receptionist was not able to lend us a phone, usb for internet or change us of the room. We paid a hotel room for nothing, 137,98 euros. Next day in the check out, there was other receptionist and i suggested that they should delete in the website Booking.com that they have wifi in the hotel. And she answered to me: "People don´t come here to work, they come for holidays." O_O

deluding experience
Reviewed By Fabrizio Bwe arrived late. we just need an hot shower after a day on bike. and... No hot shower! internet slow and keep on falling (the password business just annoying. do change system!!!!) room small, and bed way to small for me thta i'm over 1.80 cm!

Lovely location, but owner is not in the right job
Reviewed By ReadliesCornwallWe had read some negative reviews about this hotel and so were pleasantly surprised by location, cleanliness, size of rooms, balconies and views (all of town square, but the gorgeous lake to one side). Everything else negative was, I'm afraid, very true. The owner does not seem happy to open her doors, welcome people and make their stay happy, restful, easy and welcoming. The hotel is locked when she goes out (most of the day and all evening from 7ish) so you have to have your key with you (only 1 per room) or you can get locked out, or even in, as happened a couple of times to us. It wouldn't take much, if she has to lock it in this way, to have a self locking mechanism to go out, however the whole arrangement is painful and irritating. The owner was perfunctory, brusque, rude and unhelpful in every way. We had a small gas cooker so we could cook on the beach (as barbecues were understandably banned) and instead of talking to us about it, she reported us to booking.com who had to call and email us during our holiday accusing us of cooking in our rooms, it was ridiculous and so rude. The wifi was awful and at one point it got shut down so when restarted, none of our codes worked and she argued with our children and then us before giving us any more. The cleaners were very good, however one day my 16 y/o son was in the room and said no when the cleaner knocked to clean. The madam unlocked the door and came in again telling him the cleaning had to be done and sent a man in. She was rude to all of our children. She took away the chairs outside in the evening so we couldn't sit in the early evening making our plans, she then used her alsation dog to intimidate us on the last night when we were making plans for a last meal, she turned all the outside lights off. I gave her three ice packs, she only gave two back and when i said there were three she started speaking back in French - which was what she resorted to whenever things got difficult, finally a parcel was delivered for me and and she didn't bother to say anything, put a sign up etc so I left without knowing it had arrived. I've been emailing to get it sent on and she is quoting triple the cost to send it back to me! I really think she is not cut out for the service industry, perhaps security would be more suitable. It genuinely did spoil our holiday. What a horrible woman
