It is a wonderful place located in the Teide’s natural park. With views to the mountains, as a guest I could enjoy the amazing canarian food at its restaurant. The room was excellent, decorated according its traditional style. The staff very friendly, always tried to serve us the best of the services. I fully recommend this place! ;)

A perfect little boutique hotel in the centre of the old town

Reviewed By Bobcat605

This is a charming traditional colonial house built round a courtyard which has been glassed over to create a lovely breakfast room. Our room on the third floor was a little small but comfortable and with a nice spacious bathroom, I think the second floor rooms are better if a little dearer. On the plus side it opened out on to the roof terrace which had a marvellous view of Teide (cloud permitting) in one direction, and over the town to the sea in the other. Magical at night. The breakfasts are excellent: a choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereals, eggs done in a variety of ways, bacon or ham. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our only criticisms are that the wifi is very patchy but we did manage to find a corner on the landing with a couple of chairs right next to the router. Although the hotel advertises free parking on site (not reservable) it has only 3 spaces for 14 rooms so it is not always easy to get a slot. There is street parking too but few spaces. On one occasion we had to park overnight in the public car park about 10 minutes walk away. Excellent value.

Hotel Rural Orotava

A restaurant with a few rooms.

Reviewed By Y7945BEsandran

The building is a lovely 16c courtyard house. The staff are lovely. The breakfast is good and so is the restaurant. The downside is that the restaurant and bar close at 21.45 and are closed all day Sunday. There is no tea/coffee in the room so nothing is available outside of the restaurant hours. We happened to be there during a sandstorm on a Sunday when it was dangerous to go outside because of flying roof tiles but eventually had to because of thirst and hunger. No hotel staff were there and the phone was unanswered, not good. The rooms have no soundproofing, we could hear every word from the next room and they weren't being noisy, ear plugs essential. Our shower room was very small. There is nowhere to stop to unload luggage and the carpark is about 250 metres away up/down a steep hill. While la orotava is a lovely town, it is geared towards day trippers and many of the restaurants close at 18.00. so if you stay for more than a few days dining choices are limited. Geographically it is well placed for touring the north coast and mount Teide. Sadly every review gets the same automated response so they obviously don't care.

Hostel Tenerife

lovely, laid back hostel <3

Reviewed By Joël M

We had a really nice time at the hostel! Actually it felt more like a shared big house - we came in summer and it seems that's off season, so there were only two other couples which made our experience really relaxed. But also the people working there were so freindly and warm hearted, we felt so welcomed and well taken care of and of course they had many good tips for us. :) Especially if you don't know where to stay on Tenerife, come to la Orotava! The north coast is much more beautiful and authentic than the touristy south! In the north there are black sand beaches and la Orotava is the perfect starting point for tours to both the sea and the mountains, since it is situated in the middle of both! Also the city itself is really beautiful. If I remember correctly it was once the capital and therefore very rich, which left its marks on the beautiful charming old buildings. We will def come back!
