Just 15 minutes from downtown Québec City, opposite Montmorency Falls, drive across the bridge to L'Île d'Orléans, an island where farming and all forms of agriculture thrive year-round.

They have a word in Quebec called "acceuil" which means hospitality. I wanted a welcoming bed and breakfast while we were in Quebec City and Ile d'Orleans seemed perfect based on previous experiences. The house looked quaint so I picked it. We were there 2 days and never saw saw an owner, Our breakfasts consisted of bottled orange juice, an orange, not very good coffee and a scone. The server was an old lady who also was the housekeeper, did not speak English, had a smoker's cough and was no help in either English or French. The room was small, no conditioning (it was July), the bed was a creaky double bed and the bathroom had no soap or dresser to put toiletries. Not worth $100 a night.

This century-old residence is included in the register of cultural heritage. It is located in one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec - St-Jean de l'Île d'Orléans - and faces the majestic St-Laurent River. In 2020, while retaining the traditional character of the house, Sylvie and Yves, his lifelong accomplice, have converted it into a B&B - for Bed & Brunch. Inspired by the lifestyle they practiced in Guadeloupe, they have agreed to orient your stay towards "outdooring" or "living outdoors". In addition, they have installed, for you, a swimming pool, a campfire, a game of pétanque, croquet, a swimming pool, a swing as well as chairs to sunbathe while watching the boats go by, the stars shine. or the moon rise over the water. Your room opens out onto 4 large windows, one of which has a view of the river and the swimming pool. . We, your hosts, do our utmost to meet the golden rules of hospitality: refresh yourself, eat so that you can rest and have fun.
Friendly hosts making us feel like home. The room was charming and the bed most comfortable. The star of the show is the breakfast. Yves and Sylvie our host calls it “A slow brunch” A 4 steps breakfast, exquisite to the eye, and sublime to the taste. Staying at La Maison de l’Ile is a most just for the breakfast. I would never hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

We booked two rooms for one night. I could have easily given 5 stars but we did not get the rooms we booked with extra $$. Our experience was not at all per their website details. 1) Room 1: Queen Studio with Sea view - Price we paid was 153 CAD. This was room at the first floor (Yvonne) which is neither studio nor sea view. We booked this room as we saw nice pictures in your website but you gave us a normal room. The bed was uncomfortable with creaky floor. 2) Room 2: Double room with Sea view - Price we paid was 143 CAD This was Germaine room on the first floor. I believe the 'sea view' is bit misleading here as you have a tiny window (far away from the bed) from where you can see the St. Lawrence river. The only thing we liked was the breakfast, location and the staff. Because you didn't give us the rooms that we originally booked, you should work towards reimbursing the 30 $ extra that you charged for the rooms as clearly you gave us the double room which is 100$+tax.

What a find! This quiet (no TVs in each suite) was absolutely charming as well as the family. The home is 250+ yrs old: walls that are 1-2 feet thick: if only they could talk! Great breakfast: lots of choice (including a cheese plate), apple juice from their orchard and artisan jams made on their estate. We had a lovely beverage on the deck overlooking the St Lawrence. The neighbouring store for their ciders was fun and stocked with unbelievable ciders and jams. We will be coming back for a visit!

We spent one night at this motel-like Auberge, on the second floor as the main is a restaurant/bar. The room was very clean. The decor was warm with knotty pine style furniture. Comfortable bed. Little storage space with a small sink in the room, outside the bathroom. Stephanie registered us and was very friendly and accommodating. A very good, full breakfast was included in the price. Parking was free, right in front of the Auberge. The terrasse has a great view of the river and at night was beautifully lit and the bar service was great.
