Hovden Fjellstoge is located at the top of Hovden in the Setesdal Valley, 2,7 km from the village next to the Vidmyr nature reserve and the river Otra. Accommodation is provided in comfortable rooms or cabins. We take pride in serving homemade food inspired by local traditions. During summer there is easy access to the mountain, and several marked summer routes. Other summer favorites include fishing, golf and mountain biking. In the winter season cross-country skiing is available right by Fjellstoga, and alpine skiing is just minutes away with complimentary ski bus.
Very nice and particularly clean room, superb meal and nice staff.
Reviewed By Christian SSpent 1 night here now, over 20 years since my last visit. Tremendous lift in quality in all aspects. This is still a reasonably priced hotel, so it felt like a bargain! The new rooms include a complete kitchen if you feel like cooking, but we chose a superbly prepared dinner with locally fished trout and the breakfast was lovely, varied and rich. Very nice and friendly staff too.

Hovdestøylen Hotell lies peacefully next to the river Otra, with hiking and ski trails that pass just outside the hotel. The hotel has spacious hotel rooms, which were renovated in 2021, as well as apartments and cabins that sleeps upto 8 people. Several of our hotel rooms come with a sleeping loft and has plenty of room for the whole family. All rooms have free wireless internet connection. By the reception is our cozy fireplace lounge and pleasant bar. The restaurant has great views of the river and mountains. The hotel also offer play room for the children, free transportation bus to the Alpine Centre during winter season.

Reviewed By akvilel2017The resort is very cozy. We had a huge apartment with 4 bedrooms, 2 showers and toilets, kitchen and our own, private sauna. The rooms were clean, kitchen had all the things we need in it. The view was amazing. The lounge downstairs is so beautiful, the fireplace, the restaurant full of delicious food. So, if you want to have a great time in winter wonderland, that is the right place for your family!!!!

Reviewed By jonasgWe had a short and nice stay here after passing from vestern Norway on the way home trough Haukelifjell and Setesdalen! This vas a Nice spot to spend the evning and night! We would like to Return later to do some skiing!

Hovdehytta tilbyr leiligheter i forskjellig størrelsen. De har soverom, baderom med dusj og wc og trivelig stue med godt utrustet kjøkken. Leilighetene har alt fra 2- 11 sengeplasser fordelt på 1-5 soverom. Hovdehytta ligger svært sentralt med Hovden Badeland og sentrumet som nærmeste nabo.

Reviewed By XXHadleyXXThe location is brilliant---there are some nice hikes right outside, no need to drive anywhere. There are also grocery stores, restraunts (2) and a souvineer shop only a 5 minute walk away. Parking is included and if there is space (we were in low season so there was) parking is in a garage, which was so nice. The bed was quite comfortable, more so than it looked (and long enough for my 2 meter tall husband, in spite of having walls on both ends), the kitchen was very usable with a good sized fridge and freezer, microwave, stove and oven, coffee maker, tea kettle and all the normal things one expects (mixing bowls, trivers, pots and pans, chees grater, colander, kitchen towels and scrub brush and dishwasher tabs, etc) The checklist for final cleaning was easy to follow and the vaccuum, and provided supplies made it easy to do. There is nowhere to put away your clothing (no closet, no shelves at all) -- and bedrooms are so tiny there is nowhere good to get dressed. The shower was good, and there was a very small shelf to put soap but something bigger would be good. The TV was very small for the space and we ended up having to move the sofa to get close enough to see it well. Overall a good place for a few days exploring in the area.
