The Settlers Inn is an authentic 1920's Arts & Crafts Lodge at the gateway to Main Street in Hawley, Pennsylvania, the small downtown that serves the Lake Wallenpaupack region.
The breakfast was really great The walk down to the river is very nice with swings to relax on in the back.A little road noise can be expected when hanging out in the back It’s only a little over two hours drive from Queens ny Staff are very helpful and friendly

East Shore Lodging is an iconic, boutique motel where modern amenities and rustic design merge with an authentic roadside motel. Our pull-up parking spots, low slung roof and exterior guest doors evoke that classic ”motor-inn” nostalgia with a modern, convenient twist. No schlepping luggage through a lobby or parking far from your room. In this excessive, chaotic world, we bring it back to easy & simple. Our rooms have been completely renovated using reclaimed furniture to create an authentic, environmentally friendly travel experience while using a modern mix of natural woods & gorgeous color pallets across all 12 warm, inviting, bright & airy rooms. All rooms have microwaves, refrigerators, private bathrooms, iron/ironing boards, hairdryers, flat screen cable TVs, free & WiFi &. We are centrally located across the street from Lake Wallenpaupack in the heart of the Lake Wallenpaupack area on the Route 6 corridor & steps from the 1.5 mile walking trail, beach, visitors center & observation dike. During your stay, shop at our on-site gift shop, take a boat tour or rent your very own kayak, stand up paddle board or pontoon boat. After a sun-filled day, enjoy an ice cream or treat at Gresham’s Ice Cream Shoppe next door. Our location is the perfect basecamp to explore the Wallenpaupack Region of lakes, mountains, hiking, boating, fishing, skiing/snowboarding, antiquing, real estate & so much more that the area has to offer. We are the essence of Wallenpaupack living brought to life!
Once again East Shore Lodging did not disappoint. I’ve stayed here a handful of times now over the past year while I visit family and I appreciate the ease of check in and check out. The rooms are all spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. There’s no lack of hot water for the shower and the convenience of the in room fridge and microwave is appreciated.

We just returned from a really disappointing stay at Silver Birches. We booked “the Big House” at a hefty price tag of $3,000 for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend. The condition of the house left a lot to be desired. Several of the blinds were broken in the DOWN position so we could not see the lake (we used rubber bands to try to tie them up again). Many of the window cranks were broken so the windows didn’t open, and many of those that did open had missing or broken screens. (Why rent a lake house if you can’t see the lake or open the windows?). Stains on the carpet, water marks on the ceiling, not enough flatware in the house to accommodate the 10 people the house sleeps, closet doors that were off track, deck furniture dumped in a pile and not set up for us, a grill that was so dirty it caught on fire when I tried to make dinner, broken furniture, nametags still stuck on doors I guess indicating assigned rooms for the previous renters??... I could go on – but the most upsetting part was the response from senior management. The manager on duty and the groundskeepers informed us that a group of college students had rented the house just before us and held a house party with more than 50 people sleeping over. They said the kids “destroyed” the house and Silver Birches wasn’t able to address all of the issues before our stay. I told them that I understood their predicament but that I didn’t think I should be expected to pay full price when the home was not in the condition it should be. The manager understood and called the CEO (COO?) to see what could be done. According to her, his response was, and I quote, “Absolutely not…things happen…there are no refunds or reimbursements.” She reminded him of the house party and he said, “I will not take that into consideration.” I’m sorry, what? Seriously? Other notes – communication around the place is problematic. When you call the “front desk” you are first directed to a call center not on the property and then bounced to the main desk (where frequently no one answers). When we called about the scheduled live music we were alternately told “it’s happening outside now” (it wasn’t); “there is no music scheduled this weekend” (there was); “it was canceled” (it wasn’t); “it’s been moved to the restaurant” (bingo). The one and only restaurant reservation we could get mysteriously disappeared from their books and I had to beg them to accommodate us on our final night. The place is dog-friendly and not all guests pick up after their dog so in addition to all the geese poop there’s dog poop lying around too. If you are mobility-impaired and not staying at the Inn or the close-in cottages, you’ll have a lot of trouble navigating the extremely steep hill b/c there are no pathways. The place boasts a lot of activities but heads’ up that they own multiple properties and not all of the activities actually take place at Silver Birches. The sunset toast which was scheduled to happen never took place (I waited for it). Again, I could go on. It was just overall an (extremely costly) disappointment with a shockingly rude COO. On the positive side – beds, sheets, and towels were comfy. Paddleboards and kayaks were fun. View from the bar area was stunning. Too bad we couldn’t really see it through the broken blinds from our overpriced lakefront house.

This is in a very good location, central to lake, Falls, state and national parks as well as casinos. Room was acceptable, full kitchen, living/dining room good furniture 2 bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms. A little disturbing to see the amount of bugs stuck in Kitchen light and black dirt around molding in bathroom. Carpet in poor condition and a nice balcony that is unusable due to the mold and dirt build up on table and chairs. Beds were very uncomfortable, very soft mattress low to floor. To get to second floor there is a narrow spiral staircase, upstairs bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, but no bars in shower to hold on to making it hard to get in and out. Not so bad I would not return but would ask for a room without the spiral staircase.

We went here as kids and always loved it. I was happily surprised to find it was still running. My friends and I used to go to Chestnut Grove as adults but that closed last year. I recommended Lukans and we are all so glad we came here. It is even nicer than I remembered. The flowers and farm are beautiful. The rooms are big and clean. The pool is great. The food above all is excellent! The owners and the workers are the loveliest people. I cannot wait to go back.

Rooms 1 through 8 are located on the second floor; rooms 9 - 12 are located on the third floor. There is no elevator access.
We also love small, independent inns and this is one. Very comfy beds. Book directly with the hotel rather than a booking site to get a better sense of which rooms are available. Breakfast is at a traditional diner down the block. On site dinner restaurant, the Ridge. Nice base in the northern Poconos
