Dinner on the main square
Reviewed By SigglyHad a lovely dinner overlooking the town square from the terrace of the restaurant. The service was friendly and the food lovely. We started with beef tartare which was delicious and very generous. Our main dishes were fish and a plate of home made Austrian pasta with a selection of fillings ranging from meat, potato and vegetables. Each was different and very nice. For dessert we had traditional apple strudel and more traditional pasta 'Kletzen nudel' but this time filled with dried pears, spices and Topfen (Austrian style ricotta). This was my favourite dish. The hotel restaurant has had a facelift in the last year which has given it a modern and fresh look. I can't speak for the rooms as we were only there for dinner but I believe it's also a lovely hotel.

Reviewed By 839craciunaGreat hotel and personnel, the restaurant has very good food with good service. The spa area is also superb, both design and usage. The room is clean and has a cute area to stay outside and enjoy a cup of tea. Overall a great stay.

Alles war sehr sauber und rein - Flachbildschirm in ausreichender Größe und die Lage ist auchsehr gut. Das Essen war sensationell und die Freundlichkeit wie schon im Titel beschrieben NICHT ZU TOPPEN! Danke!

3 weeks with my new Austrian Family
Reviewed By Bodger8559On a 3 Week business trip in Friesach - at SSI-Schaefer. I cant thank them enough for their hospitality. Especially Primo the Dog who has ruined many a clean pair of trousers - I miss my dog - its not a problem. (He likes me !) The family and staff are lovely. LIz - organises everything all bookings Carolyn - runs a great House Katie, Sasha, Martin, Claudia, Rupert , Barbara - and a Smiley Lady who I don't know her name look after the all the guests and Rene - and Mum with all the team cook the most exquisite food - which is not expensive. Do try the Goulash !!! Finally my thanks to Waltraud and Rosemary for my washing and keeping the rooms lovely. They are a dedicated team - Dad - entertains the guests !!! If you want a lovely time come to Thomahan ! The Train station to the rest of Austria is 10 mins walk away. They have Bikes to hire and there is plenty to do at weekends when you can't get home to England. There's and Aldi across the road to get bits and pieces - and they have guest fridges for keeping stuff cool.

Ein liebevoll gepfelgtes kleines Hotel im Zentrum
Reviewed By Friedrich_MPAAuf den Buchungsplattformen ist der Hotel nicht zu finden. Aber zum Glück gibt es Email und Telefon. Eine reizende Dame hat unsere Reservierung aufgenommen und auch am Tag der Anreise empfangen. Das Haus hat schon eine lange Geschichte, an den Gewölben kann man so einiges erkennen. Die Zimmer sind nett eingerichtet, sauber und gemütlich. Das Frühstück ist klein, aber gut. Ein kleiner Geheimtipp für Friesach-Besucher.
