Hotel Tarn Review. We have travelled all over the World. If our experience is not 100% we normally communicate privately to the hotel. However having read the reviews of the Logis Hôtel du Gorges du Tarn there is a clear picture emerging so we will add our information for the benefit of visitors. Our twin room in the annexe was perfectly adequate, very clean & exactly as anticipated at the price. There is no lift which was not an issue for us but be prepared to carry luggage up & down stairs. We booked into the Restaurant l’Adonis. It seemed expensive but we had been driving all day & looked forward to something special. The young waiter seating guests ignored us when we arrived. He walked past us a number of times with no communication & eventually I stepped in front of him & he waved his hand vaguely in the direction of a table. We speak French well but the menu is complex. The waiter made no concessions to aid us with choice or explanation. Fortunately the charming receptionist intervened to help & provided us with an English menu. The menu du jour (€29) offered no choices. Boudin/black pudding, followed by Pigs cheek. An eclectic choice by the chef - the amuse bouche was pancreas foam. My husband chose instead to have the next option €43. A few pieces of asparagus with salad as a starter, a very bland whole trout accompanied by a piece of carrot, a piece of broccoli, a quarter of a tomato & a wedge of potato arranged beside it. We hadn’t ordered our dessert at the beginning as we weren’t sure what we would want. The young waiter - whose unhelpful attitude persisted throughout - now told us we’d have to wait 20 minutes as we hadn’t pre-ordered. The quality of the food simply does not justify the prices; the service was unpleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend a five minute walk into this lovely old town to one of the little restaurants where we had an excellent & simple meal for €13 the following evening.

We enjoyed our stay here during our walk of the Chemin Stevenson- one of the better places in which we stayed in an area short of good quality accommodation. The house is really old and smells a bit damp when you enter but our room (the Chataignier) up in the eaves was spacious and comfortable and had a nice modern bathroom. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was very good and it was interesting talking to Roger who is a good host.

A strange medieval town in the Cevennes area of France. History abounds in this small town that has seen life since the Knights Templars era and the houses reflect architecture through the ages. However, many of the shops and homes lie empty, there is a somewhat sad and deserted air about this place. Unfortunately feral cats are everywhere and dog mess is abundant! Camping La Velay on the outskirts of Florac, is nicely situated, but facilities are run down but clean. No English is spoken and its a 'Cash' only site!! Which you're not aware of until you come to leave.........

Firstly it was a perfect location for our motorbike tour with excellent motorbike parking facilities . Bikes were able to be undercover I prefer 4/5 star hotels but none are available in FlorAc that I could find. Cost for two in bedroom with shared terrace and breakfast was 101 euros. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman on reception. Gardens are lovely as is it’s pool. Location is excellent a minutes stroll from centre ville. Breakfast was very basic not large choice ...coffee was an espresso machine. Room was clean . My husband slept well but then he can sleep upright on a Ryanair flight!! I slept badly. Found bed uncomfortable and hate the one option sausage pillow .... I would summarise that we got what we paid for .... I’d happily pay more for more luxury but if you want good location clean and basic and reasonable this is the hotel for you .lots of bikes there from Germany NL France and our English bikes

Le Rochefort is a decent hotel about 1 km outside of Florac. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Our rooms were quiet and faced away from the road. The WiFi did not work in the rooms, although it worked well in the lobby. The breakfast was of average quality and included croissants, baguettes and yogurt. Unfortunately, the staff was not very helpful and seemed fairly uninterested in helping us to have a pleasant stay.
