Disappointing
Reviewed By C7804EHjohnwMy wife and I had, in previous years, stayed over in Dettelbach en-route to Austria. We liked the look of the Franziskaner. Sadly, we were disappointed by a raft of ‘niggling’ issues that reflect, as several other reviewers have commented on, a lack of purpose and leadership. We arrived with outside air temp at 4c, room had all heating turned off (probably like that for days) - took hours for it to warm through. Asked, on arrival, if we could book for dinner, yes was the answer. Arrived for dinner, all tables in restaurant ‘taken’ - we could eAt in the semi ‘neon lit’ room adjacent... Out of date nibbles in room... The positives, and there were some, very helpful and ‘smiley’ young staff members + we had an excellent and perfectly cooked Schwein Schnitzel, very tender with a well presented salad.. Overall for the 126 euro price tag, poor value for money. They could do a great deal better with some quality leadership...

True Frankonian Hospitality
Reviewed By Elna KDettelbach is a quaint historic town well worth the visit. We happend upon the Altfränkischer Inn Grüner Baum and had a terrific meal. The fare is traditional Frankonian, the portions are more than enough and reasonably priced. The owner served us and was a treasure trove of information about Dettelbach. Will certainly go back and stay over in the hotel.

Stay away!
Reviewed By berntkrWe made a reservation thru "Booking.com". We made a remark that we would arrive late (between 23:00 and 00:00). We arrived at the hotel 23:32 and it was closed!!. We tried to call but there was no answer. Finally we had to go to another hotel where we stayed to the next morning. The next day we wrote a message to the hotel thru their internal message system. When we got back from the holiday we found out that we had been charged for the "stay". We sent an email, but stil no answer. I guess the money is lost.....

Reviewed By AlznCazAs someone else reviewed this place, "basic no frills overnight stay." Difficult to say much about the place as we stayed so briefly and most of that was for sleep. Fairly easy to find off the E45 but don't use the Chinese pagoda image above as an indication of what the motel looks like!
