Hôtel avec Piscine froide et internet disponible uniquement sur la terrasse Le gérant parle un peu français Chambre propre et nettoyée tous les jours Petit déjeuner copieux et varié L’hôtel ne propose pas de déjeuner ou dîner, il faut donc aller dans le centre ville qui se situe à 10-15 min à pied selon la vitesse car c’est une ville en hauteur avec de belles pentes et descentes. Petit bémol : dans la chambre il y’avait une bouteille d’eau sur lequel aucun prix n’était indiqué, je pensais que c’était offert mais à la fin du séjour le gérant me dit que cette bouteille d’eau est payante, j’ai pas trouvé ça cool. Petite histoire : Manque d’empathie de la part du gérant, on devait venir me chercher à 21h , je demande donc au gérant si je peux rester dans la chambre sachant que je dois partir qu’à 21h celui m’a répondu non car l’hôtel était complet. J’ai du quitter la chambre à 12h et du me changer au bord de la piscine sans avoir pu me laver sous 30 degrés . Et bien étant rester toute la journée et soirée à l’hôtel je peux vous dire que personne à part moi n’y a mis les pieds ! Hôtel complet ?!

Villa Concetta Suites & Studios is a newly built guest house to Cidade Velha and is located in an exclusive location to 30 meters from the sea on the bay of “Santo Antonio” , 150 meters from the “Forte de Santo Antonio”, and near the “Forte Real de São Filipe” (UNESCO World Heritage Sites). The rooms are all with private bathroom and separate entrance and we have studios with kitchen for longer stay. The property has wi-fi, a large terrace with sea views and descent to the beach of the bay. Villa Concetta is suitable for those who want a quiet and relaxing stay in contact with the nature, sea, history and culture of the place. The central square of Cidade Velha is to 1 km, the international airport is 11 km from the property and the capital of the country, Praia, to 10 km, 300 meters from the house you can use minibuses to get to the city of Praia all day long.
Beautiful villa, spectacular terrace and cozy rooms
Reviewed By GuideVenturousWe stayed in Villa Concetta during our visit to the island of Santiago in February. We took a local minibus from Praia, which is a quick and cheap way of getting to Cidade Velha. We were welcomed warmly by Bruno, the owner, who showed us to our beautiful room and offered us coffee, tea and cookies on the spectacular terrace overlooking the sea. That was a beautiful welcome and we enjoyed coming back to the terrace again for sunset and then again for the lovely breakfast and some sun tanning later in the day. Our room had everything we needed, a nice comfy bed, its own ensuite bathroom, a little eating area and its own kitchen. We didn’t use the kitchen but it seemed well equipped if you want to do your own cooking. The villa provides the guests with fishing and snorkeling gear, magazines to read, etc. It’s a short walk to the center of Cidade Velha, which is a really charming little town with a few seaside restaurants. We had a great stay in Villa Concetta and highly recommend it to all visitors coming to Cidade Velha.

No wi-fi and TV not working
Reviewed By Katie SNice pool set in nice gardens, not far from the centre. But in all the hotel's publicity (website and leaflets in reception) it offers internet and TV in the rooms. Not so. Once we'd checked in we were told the wi-fi had been switched off and probably wouldn't be back on again before we left. When we asked after the remote control for the TV in our room, we were told that none of the TVs worked. We were offered the use of the internet in the hotel's office, but that wasn't really what we were after. I assume the lack of TV and wi-fi was because we were there out of season (May) and, indeed, we didn't encounter any other guests while we were there. Breakfast was OK, room was adequate and the air con worked fine. Good views from the balcony. We only stayed a night in the end, had planned to stay 2 or 3 nights.

Peaceful hideaway
Reviewed By Richard MThis is a small 8 bedroom family hotel located about a mile from Cidade Velha. There is a swimming pool at the hotel and a small rocky beach below the hotel. Rooms are adequate and air-conditioned. Other than breakfast, food is not included in the price but is cooked to order. There is a small bar by the pool. It is a peaceful place and at night it is just you and the stars. It's somewhere to go if you want to get away from it all. Owner is knowledgeable and helpful. Pros: - Good value - Fresh food cooked to order - Quiet and peaceful - Great views - Taxis to Praia are fairly cheap Cons: - A bit out of town. You need to hire a car or are otherwise dependent on taxis - Meals are quite expensive by Cape Verde standards - No shops or other facilities nearby even in Cidade Velha - Pool is cold - Beach is rocky and hard on the feet. - There are quite a lot of mosquitoes at night

Instead of carrying around the luggage we decided to get a room in Cidade Velha and we’re glad we did! Staying there is a lot nicer than in the capital and Maria and her husband make you feel like home. The room is basic but private and clean and they have a beautiful, flower covered terrace with sea view. They were very flexible with our early check-in and our check-out in the middle of the night, prepared breakfast sandwiches for us and ordered a taxi. If you are willing to accept the slightly higher taxi price to get out of Praia you should definitely consider staying with this very kind couple!
