Reviewed By Rafael_CantarelliEstávamos fazendo a N222, a estrada que vai nas margens do Douro, e decidimos ficar hospedados no Grapple Hotel, foi uma escolha maravilhosa, o hotel é muito reservado, possui apenas 13 apartamentos e 3 vilas de 2 quartos. O hotel tem uma alto padrão, o quarto é grande, tem uma cama muito confortável, banheiro muito grande com um chuveiro ótimo. O restaurante é sensacional, comemos um bacalhau que estava muito saboroso, e o valor é muito acessível, super recomendo. Além de tudo isso, ainda tem um spa disponível para o hospede, onde pudemos relaxar antes de continuar nossa viagem. Para fechar, ainda tem a equipe que está sempre muito disponível e com um carinho muito grande, foi uma ótima escolha.

Located in Quinta Vale de Carvalho, 20 km from Carrazeda de Ansiães, in the Alto Douro region, Lagares Douro Villas is a set of 2 villas surrounded by tranquillity and a unique landscape. The property features an infinity pool with panoramic views of the landscape. Free WiFi is available. The 1 and 2-bedroom villas were completely renovated and offer a blend of modern architecture with rural elements like schist-tiled terraces and exposed stone walls. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Bathrooms have a shower, robes, slippers and free toiletries. The living rooms have a TV and a fireplace. Each unit features a fully equipped kitchen where guests can prepare their own meals and enjoy them outdoors or indoor in the dining area. Alternatively guests can use the barbecue facilities outdoors surrounded by native flora. In the area surrounding the Lagares Douro Villas guests may engage in activities like fauna and flora sighting, hiking natural trails, mountain biking, fishing and agricultural activities. The medieval Vilarinho da Castanheira is 6 km away and features a museum, and a dolmen. Vila Real is 72 km away and Vila Nova de Foz Côa with its archaeological park is 36 km away. Mirandela is 44 km away and Porto International Airport is 167 km away.

Reviewed By user pWe stayed here as a newly married couple for 2 days just after our wedding in July 2017 and this place was fantastic! It's definitely out of the way (which was what we wanted!) but Pedro came to meet us from the motorway so we didn't get lost. When we arrived we were both blown away by beauty of the place. There are two spacious villas completed to a high spec, which both have their own outside space overlooking beautiful views of the mountains and a shared infinity pool. When we stayed however, no-one was in the other villa so we had the place and the pool to ourselves! Pedro had put some lovely touches out for us as we were on honeymoon, from rose petals on the bed to champagne and strawberries - we were spoilt! The breakfast was amazing with a great selection of pastries, fruit, breads, handmade jams and fresh orange. Pedro was absolutely fantastic - checked in with us regularly to see if there was anything we needed, whilst giving us plenty of space to enjoy our break. The pool was lovely - a robot cleaned it every morning while we were having our breakfast so it was really clean, and got the sun all day so lovely and warm (although the poolside loungers have parasols to create shade for anyone who doesn't want too much sun). The only thing I would say after travelling to the villas is that the roads to get there are hair-raising in the dark! But don't let you put this off what is an absolutely amazing place to stay (take the offer to follow Pedro!) as it is well worth the trip. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. The facilities, food and hosts are all absolutely excellent and we would love to return at some point in the future,

Excellent apartment off the beaten track
Reviewed By SheffieldroseWe stayed in the studio apartment with balcony for 5 nights in June. The complex is a small group of buildings set around a central (small) swimming pool. Our apartment was above the garage and the front door led directly out to the pool area. There are 4 sunloungers and several other chairs and bean bags by the pool as well as a covered bbq/food preparation area where there are also tables and chairs. There were only 2 other people staying for most of the time we were here so it was lovely and quiet in this communal area. Maybe, it would be noisy if more people are staying? The apartment was excellent. A big sitting/ dining/kitchen area with a separate bedroom and a nice shower room. There is plenty of storage space. The kitchen has a microwave as well as a cooker and dish washer. The utensils and crockery provided were sparse but adequate for our requirements and we were told to ask if we needed anything extra. We were able to use the washing machine in the garage to wash our clothes which was much appreciated as we are on a long trip. Breakfast is nice, fairly standard continental breakfast - cereals, bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, cake with slight daily variations.There was freshly squeezed orange juice which was delicious. Paula was a fantastic host, helpful and very knowledgeable about local sites and walks
