Think you need an ocean for a beach? Think again. There are miles and miles of sandy lakefront beaches in Michigan (thanks to the four Great Lakes that border it). The west coast of Michigan has especially nice beaches—try a rental in Muskegon, Grand Haven or Saugatuck. You won’t need a car when visiting Mackinac Island. In fact, they’re not allowed—this lovely Victorian resort town is pedestrian-only.

I have nothing but high praise for the Hamtramck Hotel. I was in town to attend a funeral and this place had the right vibe. Everyone was chill and friendly. My room was spacious and comfortable. I especially appreciated the backyard where I was able to watch the fireflies. The vibe is an urban and connected vibe as the hostel is within walking distance of cheat eats, groceries, and whatever. And, yes, I did buy the t-shirt! This is the kind of place that I am proud to gas them up wherever I wear their shirt. Thanks, Scott, for a great hostel experience!

We've stayed here for 3 nights. The location is perfect! Within 15 minutes or so of most everything in the area. The suite is spacious, very clean and has everything you could ever need. The owners (on site) graciously allow use of fire pit, kayaks, canoe, grill. The view of the lake is beautiful; relaxing in the lounge chairs with a book and a beverage is a great way to end a busy day! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cooking items. The appliances work really well and are very clean. The bed is very comfortable which is important when you're hiking and biking every day. The owners are very accommodating and so nice! We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area!

The State Street Inn is a charming country Victorian bed & breakfast located in Harbor Beach, Michigan just a few blocks from beautiful Lake Huron. Open year around. 4 cozy guest rooms all with private bath. A full hot breakfast is served each morning in the dining room. Complimentary beverages, snacks, WIFI, satellite TV and video library.
When we planned a trip to Michigan's "Thumb area" we chose to stay at the State Street Inn B&B in Harbor Beach. John (our host) greeted us at the front door. Based on our comments on why we were in town, he offered suggestions on places to eat and things to do. We stayed in the Victoriana Room. The room was well lit for reading and the overhead light had a dimmer switch for mood lighting. The room was average sized and the queen bed was comfortable. The B&B is located on a main street. If you are a light sleeper like me, the sounds of the early morning road traffic can be reduced by using a small fan for white noise. A delicious hot breakfast was served in the dining room. I would stay here again the next time I was planning a visit to Harbor Beach.

Very clean and welcoming hostel! My only experience with hostels had been when I was broke in my early 20s. I wanted to take my brother to a concert and have a place to crash afterwards. We got a private room with bunk beds for about $60, and locked parking for an additional $5. The hosts were helpful and personable. Restrooms were very clean. My brother feasted on free breakfast items including waffles, bread and PB, and oatmeal. Whole bean dark roast coffee with creamer for me. $8 Lyft ride to the concert venue. Books and movies (on VHS!) for entertainment. I highly recommend it for travelers on a budget, or who want to try something new!

No COVID-19 SOP following, the bed sheets were dirty had to leave the property and cancel the booking at the cost of loss of complete amount of Money paid for reservation. The owner first promised to return the money but once came to know that i have complained due to non cleanliness and lack of protocol following of COVID -19 , denied to waive off the fees.
