There's so much in this small museum you could spend hours learning about extinct animals without even beginning to explore the rocks and minerals! I think that anyone interested in paleontology from age 6 and older would get a lot out of a visit.

Given that Casper is pretty isolated, I think that it has some beautiful features, one being these water falls. They are very popular and the water flow can vary during the season. The area around the falls is well maintained and has some wonderful picnic spots. They have also added better walkways and viewing decks. My children love to visit these falls when we come to Casper. It is an easy little hike for them as well as my elderly parents.

We stopped along the way from Thermopolous to Casper. It was on the map and a simple roadside sign. What a surprise because after miles and miles of sagebrush scenery, we didn't exoext such a spectacular view. Standing at the edge, the wind almost blew us over. I'm not sure that that is always the case, but the view itself is worth the stop.
