Your trip with us will be a voyage of discovery that will lead you in the footsteps of writers, potters and medieval craftsman. The excursion will take you to visit a local pottery, the Colette museum, as well as a local church to admire the medieval paintings. Certain days are market days (St Sauveur Wednesday and Toucy Saturday). We also propose options such as a visit to a local natural wine maker! We can pick you up from your accommodation in the area or from the local train station. Please enquire for other possibilities.

I would highly recommend this tour. Nick did a wonderful job of selecting the best wineries in the area for tastings and an education on French wines. Each wine maker shared the winery’s history and a bit on their wine making process. We started in the quaint town of Auxerre and made our way to the lovely town of Tonnerre with an excellent lunch on the way. The wine was great-easy to purchase along the way. Very manageable trip from Paris by train.

We are travelling from Australia and have previously visited other countries prior to to France which had amazing service and friendlyness. However 5minutes in France we found them to be rude 10minutes in and they were pushing us, 30minutes and pickpocketed. My advice when you get off the train is get back on and try a different country. Try Ireland, England or even Amsterdam. We are counting down the minutes to get out of this thieving, smelly, rude, dirty country Cheers

You will enjoy Auxerre, a lovable old town and solemn churches that power above the skyline. The old religious buildings are even more ancient than they appear from the outside and in the carless streets you’ll never tire of Auxerre’s creaking timber-framed houses. Our fun and entertaining guide will make this a memorable experience for you. It is one of the best experiences to immerse yourself into the rich french culture.

You will instantly fall in love with this picturesque town, this town is virtually as it was in medieval times, with its four towers overlooking a river spanned by two ancient stone bridges. The church of Notre-Dame contains numerous works of art and lovely stained-glass windows. The château is set high up on a rock, built around a square 12th-century keep, and is synonymous with the region it defended. The many-turreted village houses overlooking the canal indicate its successful involvement in river trade in those days. Our fun and entertaining guide will make this a memorable experience for you. It is one of the best experiences to immerse yourself into the rich french culture.
