My first theatrical performance was here in Chisinau and it was memorable. The venue was well attended as theater is part of Eastern European culture. It's very inexpensive. I recommend visitors to attend a performance.

We happened to be here on Austria Day and noticed there was a free concert sponsored by the Austrian embassy. We arrived 30 minutes before and got a seat. It filled up soon. The Schubert and Beethoven were amazing. The Hall has an enormous chandelier. Great evening - danke Österreich.
The „Mihai Eminescu”(1817) is the oldest theatre in Romania and a faithful copy of Vienna's "Burgtheater". As the Viennese theatre underwent many changes over time, today "the original can be seen only at Oravita. The theatre hall (191 seats) is an architectural pearl of the Viennese Baroque in semicircular shape and wonderfully decorated in the Rococo style, inspired by the Viennese butaforosis.
