The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

There's nothing like drawing on the first-hand experience of having been at the Acropolis. That's what the father and son architects named Inwood did in designing this perfect Greek Revival gem, finished in 1822, complete with two sets of caryatids. The elegant interior is familiar to students of New England architecture: boxed pews on the ground floor, with gallery seating above. The stained glass is lovely. It is too bad that this jewel is now engulfed by the horrible traffic on Euston Road and the commercialization of the neighborhood. I saw evidence of active parishioners who care about the church. I saw an interesting calendar of Lunchtime Recitals. A handwritten sign in the aisle when I was there, alone, asked for prayers for the victims of the Manchester attack.

I was welcomed so wholeheartedly by the priest and a very well spoken kind woman . The atmosphere in the church was exceptionaly peaceful. The smell and ambience was magnificent. I arrived after the morning service on Sunday. They let me in to pray and light a candle. I am glad to have come across the church in my godly walk of ☮️ peace. Thankyou St George church .
