Very nice owners, good wifi, cute common areas, and tidy room. You get what you pay for in terms of the room, but was totally fine for one night. Was worried with no AC but the room is mild since the temperature outside isn't high. However, no hot water in the showers so be prepared.

We spent one night at La Pradera during a recent trip to Monteverde. We were greeted warmly by Tony upon our arrival. He showed us around the property and pointed out a baby sloth sleeping in the tree by the reception area. This is a family run business located on a beautiful farm property with lots of birds and wildlife. They have a hiking trail around the property with signage about the local flora and fauna. Our cabana was very charming with comfortable beds and all the essentials we needed. Breakfast was excellent - made fresh to order and served with warm hospitality. My son and I have celiac disease and they were very accommodating in providing us a gluten-free breakfast. We enjoyed hiking around the property, meeting the other guests and seeing the birds and animals.

Pros: Very good wifi Super helpful and friendly staff Great location: restaurants, stores, etc all within a 10min walk Lovely room w gorgeous view to the town and the ocean Small kitchen area w fridge, microwave and kettle Tasty breakfast Cons: Towel hangers were all broken in the bathroom A small part of the bathroom window was missing so it couldn’t be closed properly and it got cold during the night Paper thin walls… we could hear everything (!!) the neighbors were saying and they kept us up until late at night Strong, loud winds in the area—another thing that kept us awake at night

Cabañas Capulín is a cluster of 8 beautiful wooden cabins located in a beautiful natural setting, with stunning views of the cloud forest and the Nicoya Gulf. The cabins range in size from small private cabins (with space for 2-5 guests), to bungalows (3-7 guests), to a small, two-storey mountain house (for 7 people). All cabins have beautiful woodwork, bathrooms with hot water, and terraces or balconies with beautiful view. Homemade breakfast for $7 per person(reservation needed)
Our family of 5 stayed at Cabinas Capulin between 5-8 January. We enjoyed the location, and the very friendly and helpful staff. We shared a kitchen with the adjacent cabina. All facilties (rooms and shared kitchen) were very clean and well kept. We recommend this location without hésitation.

Came back from dinner and the room was full of bugs and insects. The day later there was no one at the reception and when I eventually succeed to catch them by phone they told me they don’t care and I can leave whenever I want. Most disrespectful treatment I got from a hotel in my life.
