Lynton is a small town on the Exmoor coast in Devon, England standing on top of the cliffs above the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth, to which it is connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Lynton was once the terminus for the narrow-gauge Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, which served both towns.

A classic easy 2.5 mile circular walk along a relatively level section of the South West Coast Path between Lynton and the spectacular Valley of Rocks. As well as the stunning scenery, the Valley of Rocks are home to a herd of feral goats and the rare Exmoor pony.

It is a cooperative sales point for 50-60 local North Devon crafts people. We spent quite a bit of time there and would thoroughly recommend.
This place a a real treat if you love buying locally made arts, crafts, jams, jewellery and lots more. There is quite literally something for everyone and it’s all made in Exmoor or North Devon. Another great place to shop when visiting Lynton & Lynmouth.

Located in the Lynton Post Office, the Tourist Information Centre desk can assist visitors to Lynton & Lynmouth with local information about things to see and do in the North Devon and Exmoor area. Helpful and friendly staff can help you find local walks, maps and guides, and information on visitor attractions.
Located in Lynton Post Office, the tourist information centre provides a better selection of ideas to do in the area than does the centre in Lynmouth at the bottom of the hill, it also sells the discounted car park tickets if you are staying several days in the area.

Beautiful smell when you enter the door. John was busily trying to make more candles to stock up his shelfs. I bough gifts for family and friends. The candles are amazing.

An 18th-century cottage that houses a collection of agricultural and domestic tools.
The Lyn and Exmoor Museum is a quaint museum in the town's oldest surviving domestic dwelling, a whitewashed stone cottage – with its own ghost! There are seven rooms, including a traditional kitchen, and it is crammed with models, photos, farm implements, toys, fossils, maritime and railway memorabilia, information about the Lynmouth Flood and so much more. It is only open from Easter to the end of October on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but it is well worth a visit.
