The Thórbergur center is a cultural center with an exhibition dedicated to the great writer Thórbergur Thórdarson (1888 - 1974) ) who grew up on the farm Hali. This unique exhibition takes you on an enriching journey through the life and thoughts of one of Iceland's most original 20th century thinkers and writers.
Thank you for a wonderful dinner after an event-filled day on the glacier! We enjoyed the exhibition, too!

Hoffellsjökull glacier is really impressive. Pure natural beauty. The lagoon with small icebergs is certainly worth a visit. In the hotel Hoffell Glacier World, you can see a very interesting exhibition. Collection of stones from the neighbourhood. Fantastic videos on Hoffellsjökull and the lagoon.

It was on my self planned itinerary as an optional thing. We decided it was worth swinging by to see since it’s not far off the main road. I’d heard reviews of it being gross so we thought we’d have a look then decide. The attendant happily let me look at the pools before we paid. They were spotless. Your admission also comes with towel to use which was nice. The change rooms were literally just a big open room with a bench. No stalls or anything. The bathrooms were next door so I imagine you could change in there if you were self conscious. We ended up spend about two hours just relaxing in those pools and enjoying the scenery. We were the only people there the whole time. For about an hour, even the attendant left for his lunch. Talk about blissful relaxation. So many tubs to choose from, some deeper and bigger then others, all different temperatures. There’s an outdoor shower to wash before you get in the pools.
