I was initially skeptical when our guide told us that the train ride from Pyin Oo Win to the Viaduct is 3+hours but we glad we made the trip upon his encouragement. Took the best seats which tourists usually go for. Expect a jerky ride but with wonderful views along the way. There are also locals selling food & drinks in the train. Lavatory situation is basically a hole that goes directly to the tracks if you know what I mean. The Gokteik Viaduct was the tallest trestle in the world when built by the English in 1900, an architectural feat at that time. An experience worth going for.

The wooden bridge is long enough for you to find a perfect place to take a picture of the beautiful sunset. Try walk in the middle of the bridge because the bridge can be very crowded.
