We have 12 en suite rooms, arranged on ground, lower-ground, and first and second floors, with free wifi available in all.The large superior rooms and charming top floor rooms, with interesting beam features, are decorated in a contemporary style, contrasting with and enhancing the many original features - the glorious tesselated entrance hall floor, tiny plaster cupid heads, and the grand marble fireplaces. 5 mins walk railway station, 10 minutes walk city centre, free carpark.
What a fantastic stay at this 5 star b and b. The hosts Sheila and Steve were so welcoming and had thought of everything a guest could want. My friend and I had a great 3 nights in this beautiful place enjoying the guest house and its lovely surroundings. It was comfortable, clean and a tasty breakfast too. What more could we want?

This was a pleasant surprise and exceeded our expectations. On arrival we were greeted by Maria who assisted with us changing to a room with a double bed, I’d booked a twin by mistake. The guest house has a variety of rooms and we opted to have a room with its own little court yard. The room, bathroom and patio area were spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. Great tea and coffee facilities and the breakfast was amazing, thanks to Anne. A nice touch was that you had the option to purchase snacks and drinks, alcoholic/ none alcoholic drinks from the bar area. Maria was extremely helpful and very friendly providing us with all the information we needed for a comfy stay, even giving us a street map of the town. Everything was in easy walking distance and the parking area was ample. All in all great central location, great spotlessly clean guesthouse, value for money and fantastic service. We have booked to come again.

Charades is only a five minute walk from the town, bus and railway stations. A fine Victorian property in a conservation area retaining many original features. A friendly atmosphere welcomes you with fine views of Hereford Cathedral. Rooms have en-suite facilities and hospitality trays. Conservatory overlooking the beautiful gardens are open to our guests. Free ample off road parking.
We had an enjoyable stay at Charades. The room was on the ground floor and spacious. This was probably the cleanest place I have every stayed, I think real effort is put into keeping the rooms clean. The sheets felt luxurious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good as well. Would stay again!

I booked into this place for a two night stay, only because their info said it was walking distance to all the sights a person would want to see in Hereford. I guess that much was true, but It was a matter of risking life and limb just to cross the very busy street that the guesthouse is located on. I had taken a cab from the train station and he wasn't able (or willing) to find a parking spot anywhere near the place, so I walked the extra block to get to the door. I saw no humans at all. Very impersonal and slightly creepy to check in to a place, find your room, following notes and emails as if it is being run remotely from space. I saw the form to fill out for breakfast, but decided to give it a miss. Found my room, which to be fair, was fine. Clean, comfortable- really nothing wrong with it. Facing the street with the traffic, but the window didn't open anyway, so it would probably be okay. I stayed for one night. In the morning I decided that I wasn't willing to spend another night in a place where I felt so uncomfortable. Again, probably more me than the actual place- but it was just so strange. Plus the bathroom was not only shared, it was down a flight of stairs! I'm a senior woman, no thank you. I checked out early and found somewhere else to stay. The one point in its favour was the proximity to the Cathedral, the Mappa Mundi and to several stores, bus routes. So much traffic it was not a great walking experience and I certainly would never drive there. So that's it for me and the town of Hereford. Live and learn.

Just returned from a one night stay at this supposed hotel. When you first arrive there is nobody to greet you just a big sign on the door to ring a number. Get through to a lady who gives you a code then tells you room number. On entrance to establishment the stench of the dampness and musty smell is overwhelming. Room is okay size but carpets are stained (looked like blood in one part). Door open on to a piece of gravel and two broken chairs to sit on. Two people tried to gain entrance to room as they did not understand you had to go to main entrance. Scary if by yourself! My friend is bed ridden with a chest infection on her return back home. Bath dirty, cups dirty, towels clean, bedding seen better days, tv not working, heater looked dangerous, breakfast consists of a few things thrown in a bag. Price was astounding for what you get. Not worth the money or your health. Word of warning stay somewhere else this place should come with a health warning. Should have read reviews as we would not have stayed if we had. Please think before wasting your hard cash and book somewhere that is value for money. Place needs total revamp, damp course, new carpets, bedding and painting. Back in the day it may have been okay and the photos that are up are NOT up to date! Cannot see point of a reception desk when nobody is there to help. We will not be staying again and urge you not to book here.
