This family-run hotel is a great place to use as a base for the various WWI sites in the area, not least the Clairiere where the Armistice was signed. The patron is Spanish and the rooms, while basic in appearance, are modelled more in the Spanish hotel style, which means they are cool when everywhere around is blistering hot as was the case on our recent visit (external heat 37°C). And everything in the room works, which is more than can be said for some flashier places we've been to. The great thing about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff, all family members and, in particular, the chef (a son, of course) whose food is to die for. He has a way with rognons and ris de veau that has us coming back for more and more. There is also a decent wine list with a number of good-quality half-bottles.There is plenty of onsite parking which leads to the one minor - and it is minor - criticism, which is that cars must drive past the delightful external dining area in order to access the rear of the complex where the parking is. We have been here twice and will return.

Juana and Eric welcome you to their charming house in Saint Jean aux Bois, a beautiful village in the heart of the forest of Compiègne. The lifestyle and the serenity brings wholeness. Like many people, we fell in love to St. Jean. The house is on the route of the GR12 between Amsterdam and Paris. Departure of many varied opportunities in the open air of the forest of Compiègne (rent bike...).
Loved it! We already came in there almost 3 years ago and it’s still wonderful. Perfect for a small retreat, full of nature and the hosts are really kind! Really tasteful and calm, I recommand 100% if you feel you need calm and peaceful time!!!

Price/quality good. Small, clean and friendly staff. But no tap to brush your teeth. You need to use the shower..... :-( Quiet rooms and on walking distance from some good restaurants and a big activity centre like karting, lasergaming, bowling and pool

Clos Florésine welcomes tourists and professionals gîte and bed & breakfast: with 5mn of Compiègne, 15mn from the A1, 50mn the airports of Roissy and Beauvais-Tillé and 1h of Paris. At the heart of this village, this house is ideally located just 5 kilometers from the center of Compiègne and the Imperial Palace. The cottage is located in an outbuilding of the main house.
Such a shame we were only there for one night as our final destination was a fishing lake for several days fishing. Le Clos Floresine...entered through classic iron gates into a courtyard and met by our host. The house is huge and very very beautiful. Our room (chambre bleu) was light and airy with 2 huge windows that we could open and see the lovely gardens at the back..tastefully decorated, lovely bathroom, fresh towels and a big comfortable bed. You have breakfast in a room with stunning stained glass windows. Huge fresh croissants, fresh bread and jams and scrambled eggs. Tea or coffee was offered as well as fresh orange juice. It is not the cheapest place to stay (and probably not the most expensive either)but it is definitely worth it! Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and even made our reservations at a local restaurant for us for our evening meal. Definitely recommend this beautiful place for a true 'taste' of France!

It was an overnight stop en route to EuroDisney, We arrived late but entry is obtained by tapping in your booking ref number into the screen in the wall that gives you the code for entry and same code for the room ,the number of which is also displayed on the screen.Have a pen and paper handy!!!.. The first thing that hit us was the smell of cigarette smoke, fortunately that was just in the entrance. There were no towels to use .We entered the code on the key pad of our room but the door knob wouldn't turn to open the door ,we tried 3/4 times in the end I found someone to help us ,perhaps he had stayed in that room before because he gave it hard push and it opened luckily because it was nearly midnight ,and there was no-one else around.I had booked room only so had to pay extra for a minimal choice breakfast. That said it was clean and OK for a nights stopover. There is ample car parking space ,though many spaces were taken by commercial vans.
