A city with a lively history, Lviv (also spelled L’viv and Lvov) in Ukraine’s west was founded in the 13th century and has changed flags many times in the years since, having been part of Poland, Austria-Hungary and the Soviet empire. The city’s well-preserved historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has attractions like the Market Square (Ploshcha Rynok). Climb the tower at the town hall for a great city view. The Lviv Opera House is dazzling and hosts world-class performances.

Iconart Gallery is located in an intimate, comfortable studio. The gallery has become a gathering place for the presentation of Ukrainian contemporary sacred art, a meeting place for admirers of this art form, and an open, welcoming environment for discussion and creative exploration of contemporary issues in the arts and society. Very small but interesting museum. Thanks to the audio guide (available through internet connection), it's possible to access to detailed information about the glass making history and processes. The audio is supported by videos and graphical information. The exhibited material is modest, but presented very well. The administrator of the museum informs the guests very well and is very friendly. There is a small museum shop as well and it's possible to buy very good quality glass souvenirs which are made by local artists (my sister bought 2 nice birds). The entrence fee is only 20 grivna per person (less then 1 euro) and 10 grivna for students.
