6 Arenas & Stadiums in Edinburgh That You Shouldn't Miss

January 17, 2022 Dorsey Hagwood

Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city, renowned for its heritage, culture and festivals. Take a long walk around the centre to explore the World Heritage Sites of the Old Town and New Town, as well as all the area’s museums and galleries. Then stop for a delicious meal made from fresh Scottish produce before heading out to take in one of Edinburgh’s many events — including the famous summer festivals of culture, or the Winter Festivals of music, light and ceilidhs.

BT Murrayfield Stadium

BT Murrayfield Stadium is one of the great sporting stadia of the world, the largest sports venue in Scotland and witness to many thrilling international rugby matches. As well as hosting every year the RBS Six Nations Championship and many domestic games, BT Murrayfield welcomed a large number of famous artists from the Rolling Stones and Robbie Williams to Madonna, Oasis and One Directions (biggest single show in the Scottish History).

A great football stadium to visit, it has a new "Main Stand" which completed the redevelopment of the stadium now called Tynecastle Park. It is a family friendly venue and is wheelchair accessible, it boasts a team museum, shop, fans cafe/bar and the staff are warm, welcoming and willing to help. I would reccommend all football fans to arrange a visit to the famous Tynecastle Park while in Edinburgh, this venue is well served by Lothian Buses from the city centre
