The tour was a highlight of our cruise stop at Costa Maya. Toucan Tours did a fabulous job of welcoming us when we arrived-though you do need to exit the port. Just ask people in the port shops to point you in the correct direction. They had complimentary water for us throughout the trip and explained the culture of the people of Costa Maya. Our guide and driver was Eliseo. He was fabulous! He explained so much about the ruins and its history. On the way back from the ruins we had the opportunity to stop at a road side stand to purchase some cut up pineapple and mango. The fresh fruit was delicious! Try the pineapple with chili powder. We also stopped at Mahahaul- a fishing village to experience the culture, local stands, and see the beautiful water. Our family of 6 and 2 grandparents really enjoyed the day!

It was a very AWESOME experience! The staff was so kind and patient. They explained everything thoroughly and were very accommodating. The zip line is perfect for beginners, I myself, am scared of heights but I was able to complete the zip line course. I’d definitely recommend 10/10.

The information advertised on TripAdvisor was not the service we actually received. We only swam with the turtles and visited one Cenote. No Cavern, lunch, or 2nd Cenote. A 50% refund is supposed to be credited back to my account. I hope that happens.
Mahahual is the last hidden paradise of the Mexican Caribbean, named after all its visitors who find in this place tranquility, culture and adventure. Around it has been built the necessary infrastructure to be the strategic center of a tour of the coast where sun, the beach and the best adventures are the order of the day. Mahahual is a jewel of nature that shines through its pristine beaches and jungle. But its wealth goes beyond the fishing village as it is surrounded by great natural treasures Chacchoben is a historically rich place with a wonderful touch. Trees, birds, monkeys and more are as interesting as ruins. The landscape changes in this region and offers visitors a great lesson in indigenous vegetation that has impacted and been part of Mayan life. This is the third time I’ve done this tour (separate occasions and different companies) and this company has been the most organized. It is a 12 hour trip, so be prepared. First we stopped at a little Mayan restaurant/shopping where they have a shaman bless you and then you have lunch (buffet included). After we went to Chichen itza for an hour and half with Francisco as our tour guide. Francisco and the rest of the tour guides were all really friendly. After we left we headed to the cenote for an hour and if you’ve never swam in one, just do it! It’s so refreshing and beautiful! After we left there we stopped in Valladolid and it was perfect timing because we had worked up an appetite! In my experiences before they’d stop there before chichen itza. The way they did it was great so we didn’t drive back starving. The tour is great, well worth the money... A few tips; just be prepared it’s all day, bring lots of cash, (not card), towels and bathing suit/swim trunks.
