We stayed here for 2 nights - myself, my partner, our young baby and our 3.5 year old - and we had the best time. We stayed in a family room in the main hotel that had a separate space for bunk beds which our 3 year old loved. There were so many activities. The massive play area with the fort, bouncy pillows, maze and crazy golf was fab. It’s a bit of a walk but an easy walk and buggy friendly. The food in the Italian restaurant that we ate in both nights was great, the kids menu was a wee bit limited though. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection. Check out was at 11am so it wasn’t too much of a rush to get out. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. The whole stay was summaries by our 3 year old who said “I just loved all of it”

The Scottish Highlands, wild and rugged, have a timeless romantic quality. At their very heart, where the River Tummel flows to the Tay, sits the historic small town of Pitlochry. The Atholl Palace Hotel, the epitome of Scottish Baronial splendour, stands overlooking wooded parkland grounds and the town to the surrounding hills. Originally opened as the Athole Hydropathic in Victorian times, the hotel retains many features of the traditional large country house, with bedroom facilities and standards which often exceed expectations and complement spacious, relaxing public areas. With 107 bedrooms, self-catering lodges, apartments and 10 function suites we can cater for your needs whether it is leisure or business purposes.
Wonderful Victorian hotel set in glorious gardens. The hotel staff were a credit to the hotel, especially the Night Manager…we checked into the hotel quite late and the Night Manager provided help and advice. We enjoyed the buffet style breakfast. A visit to the Hotel Museum gives you a real flavour of hotel life in Victorian times, well worth a visit.

Just ten minutes walk from the town centre, the historic and recently refurbished Pitlochry Hydro Hotel overlooks the town of Pitlochry itself. The Pitlochry Hydro hotel offers an excellent range of facilities for visitors, including a modern, well-equipped gym and heated indoor swimming pool. The hotel houses all of the amenities and facilities you would expect from a Bespoke hotel. In addition, our staff will offer you a warm, friendly welcome, and ensure that your stay is as relaxing and memorable as possible. Pitlochry is a superb base for walkers. Ben Vrackie towers above the town, and the Cairngorm Massif is close by to the North. Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch are also easily explored using the hotel as a base.
Quiet and clean. Okay, I'm out of good things to say. Room was stark and cheaply furnished. No water pressure in shower. But worst of all was the food. 3 menus with some questionable choices in combination. Finally settled on sharing a hand crafted wood fired pizza. Frozen and not even completely hot. Breakfast was same, pre-pepared foods and sludge filled coffee. I swear it was instant

Enjoy Theatre, fishing, golf & walking all in beautiful scenery. *Please note, we no longer offer evening dining but we still have a great breakfast*
good value hotel in good location in Pitlochry. All of the staff are friendly and helpful...special thank you to 'big' Karen for he warm welcome! Breakfasts are cooked fresh to order and are excellent, rooms clean and spacious. Only downisde is that this hotel used to have a steak restaurant which served excellent evening meals-sadly post pandemic, and I fully understand the reaons why, this is not availble now. Hopefully things improve in the future so that this facility can be reopened-fingers crossed. Other than that minor issue, we had an excellent 2 night stay...would we return...yes!

Just returned home after a night away at this hotel. Check in wasn’t until 3pm. My pal and I went for a treatment in the spa, which was brilliant. Lovely girls and facial was amazing. When we got to our room, first impression was good but went in to the en-suite and there was a pubic hair on the floor, a brown mark on one of the hand towels then in the bedroom, there were multiple cobwebs on ceiling and coving. The lounge area is very tired, seating very worn and sone staff were not very welcoming and it seemed like a huge effort to get a drink for us. The bedroom was good, big windows, big comfy bed. Unfortunately the breakfast really let the whole weekend down. We all ordered full Scottish breakfast, one with poached, one with scrambled and two with fried eggs. Poached egg was like rubber ball, scrambled egg had no flavour and fried eggs were also rubbery but undercooked. The haggis was so greasy, it was inedible, sausage was solid as if it had been cooked hours earlier and after having to ask for tattie scones (which were supposed to be included) it was very dry and overcooked. The spa/pool was lovely but the hotel experience let it down All in all, we won’t be back to this hotel
