I actually went twice in the week I was in the area. The first was with a fellow worker that had never had Mead before and now he was a believer. We both purchased product this time. Both visits were very late in the day, very close to closing, and at either time I never felt rushed, which is a rarely the case. Everyone I came into contact there is very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with me. I gained a GREAT deal of knowledge. I was in the area for work, but plan to return again from Little Rock at my expense, it is that good. My fellow worker wanted to return again with me but he had to start heading back to California but he to will return again as well. This is a must visit if your in the area at a minimum but it's worth a trip by itself. I purchased 2 1st trip and 4 the second time. I would have purchased more but I was flying back the next day. I could go on forever of how impressed I was but I probably went to long already. YOU NEED TO COME HERE, ITS GREAT.

We produce Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. Using locally grown grapes, our winery has produced over 30 award-winning wines for your enjoyment. Castle Creek Winery currently produces over 8,000 combined cases of wine. Each bottle is filled, labeled, and boxed by hand on site. *Hours will vary depending upon the season of the year*
Very nice winery just outside of Moab. The drive to get there is very scenic, of course being next to Arches and following the winding Colorado River doesn't hurt. You can't beat the $1 tasting fee. The wine was pretty dang good, so good that my wife bought a case of the Outlaw Red it was so good. The server was very nice and helpful and even told us about a western museum they have down at the Red Cliff lodge. It has memorabilia from the many movies they filmed in this area. Pretty neat and it's free. If you are in the area and enjoy a good wine, this place is worth checking out!

Spanish Valley Vineyard and Winery specializes in single-vineyard estate-bottled wines. That means from the growth of the grapes, through fermentation and bottling, we handle the entire process at this single location. Our wine never leaves our Moab property until it is 100% bottled, packaged, and ready for you! The dry rocky Moab earth makes for delicious white German-varietal wines. The vineyard dates back more than 40 years when it was a Utah State University agricultural experiment initiated to determine whether grapes could be a cash crop that could help bolster the local economy as uranium mining was becoming less profitable. We offer tastings, sales, tours, and can host your special event. Come visit us for $12 tastings and $50 vineyard tours.
Located on the southern outskirts of town, Spanish Valley Vineyard & Winery is not the sort of place you’d expect to find in the desert-like climate of Moab. They specialize in single-vineyard estate-bottled wines. In winery-speak, that means from growing the grapes to bottling the wine, they handle the entire process at this single location. If you’ve visited the large wineries in California or other wine growing region, you’ll know that it is rather unusual. In fact, very little about the experience at Spanish Valley is like those big wineries. You park in a small gravel lot in front of what looks like a little farmhouse. Rather than a formal tasting room where you stand at the wine bar, here you pull up a chair at the table outside under the big tree. An attendant (usually the winemaker or his apprentice) brings out your glass, pours your sample and sits on a stool while talking about the wine. It’s an informal, relaxed, and enjoyable way to taste wine. And, they’re generous -- we tasted seven wines during our tasting. The dry, rocky soil around Moab is apparently good for growing grapes for white German varietals like Rieslings, although we also sampled a couple of reds as well. We ended up purchasing three bottles, two Rieslings and one Syrah. NOTE that they do not sell their wine wholesale to distributors or restaurants, nor do they have a wine club. Their only source of revenue is what they sell to visitors to the winery, so be prepared to purchase a bottle or two because Spanish Valley Vineyard & Winery is the sort of family-owned business worth supporting.
