We had a wonderful time walking the via ferrata at the stunning cascate di fanes waterfall near Cortina. Our guide Giovanni was great ; very patient, encouraging and instilled a feeling of calm reassurance at all times He assessed our level - beginners- quickly and went at our pace. Never thought we'd do something like this and wanted to do it all over again when we had finished. Grazie Giovanni !

5. Innerkofler-De Luca via ferrata to Monte Paterno (private experience)

Grand Hotel Misurina - Blu Hotels, Via Monte Piana, 21, 32041 Misurina, Cortina BL, Italy Giovanni Orlando

Taking the easy climb of Monte Paterno means enjoying a day to live the Dolomites intensely, to enjoy the satisfaction of reaching a real rocky summit, to admire the places you already know from an unusual point of view, to see up close, touch and perhaps understand the horrors of the First World War. The mountains will no longer be a simple, beautiful background. They will be much more. We will explore their folds, we will lean on their solid rocks, we will smell their perfume and we will be carried away by their austere beauty. In short, we will enter into intimacy with them a little and with whom, over a hundred years ago, lost his life here.

Inclusions: Complete via ferrata kit (helmet, harness and ferrata set), Front battery, All Fees and Taxes, Accompaniment by the UIAGM Alpine Guide

Exclusions: Road ticket for the Auronzo refuge (about € 30)
