The tour would leave Portree and head in a clock wise direction towards Uig, the gateway to the outer isles. We will take a short journey to the enchanting Fairy Glen. From there the next place would be the museum of island life which is closed for the winter so this would be a photo stop only, including Flora MacDonald’s monument. Duntulm castle ruin would be our next stop. Driving through Flodigarry, where the Jurassic landscape is still slipping to this day towards the sea, we will then head up on to the Quiraing where you will see stunning views across towards the Scottish mainland. We will stop next at the Kilt Rock, then Lealt falls, where you can have a short walk. From there a stop for photographs at the Old Man of Storr and then back to Portree. Access to some areas will depend on weather and road conditions. A minimum of three seats must be booked for the tour to operate. Please contact us by phone or email to check if the tour is running on the day you require.

Inclusions: Area maps are available

Exclusions: Lunch

COVID-19 safety measures: Automatic bin for you to throw your rubbish in with no touching the surface. Automatic hand sanitizers for you to clean up your hands before hop on. Social distancing measures in place and face masks worn by everyone including the driver. Tour: This was one of the best guided tour we’ve taken so far! There were only the two of us so it was as if we had taken a private tour! Robert is so knowledgable about Scottish history in general as well as the not widely known stories of the places we visited! We had plenty of time to explore the places, Robert gave us tips of where to take the best shots, we took amazing pics! My favorite place to visit was the Fairy Pools, followed by Neist Point. So I’d highly recommend this tour!

Definitely had an excellent time on this tour and with our guide, Ryan. He was very knowledgable about Scottish history relating to the places we went to and passed through. In these strange times and amidst several restrictions, we still feel like we were able to enjoy the beauty of the Scottish Highlands during this three day trip. A must-do if you're visiting Scotland and want to get as much as you can from your time.

My husband and I had a wonderful day last week (Oct 2020) exploring the Northern Highlands from Inverness with Craig. Prior to our visit, I communicated with Craig via email to plan our day. I had a few things in mind that I wanted to see, such as the Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns and Dunrobin Castle, but mostly explained that we wanted to get a sense of the history and culture and stop and take in the beautiful landscapes and take photos. Craig delivered all that and more, exceeding our expectations, with his knowledge of the area and his delightful stories. In addition to all of the above, Craig whisked us off to a surprise visit to fascinating Wardlaw Mausoleum to learn more about the Clan Fraser (Outlander fans will understand!), Beauty Priory, Shin Falls to see the salmon leaping (yes, we did get to see actual salmon!). We had another surprise at Dunrobin Castle with a Falconry demonstration, which normally would not be operating this time of year. Many stops along the way to see beautiful vistas, Loch Fleet World Heritage site where we had a good view of the seal colony, and Clootie Well. Craig was the ultimate host, picking us up and dropping us off at our Inverness hotel, driving us in comfort, complete with safety measures of hand sanitizer and masks, and more importantly a picnic hamper full of snacks. He was very responsive and communicative before and after our trip. I highly recommend Craig as your personal tour guide to the delightful Highlands.

5. Trotternish Tour

Somerled Square, Portree IV51 9BS, UK Skye Minibus Tours

The tour would depart Portree square at 09:00 hrs and return around 15:00 hrs. The tour would leave Portree and head in a clock wise direction towards Uig, gateway to the Western Isles. Before passing through Uig we would call at the enchanting Fairy Glen for a short stop, where you may want to make a wish. The next stop would be the Museum of Island life for you to visit and take in the atmosphere of how life used to be. From there we would drive up and visit Flora MacDonald’s monument. Next stop is Duntulm Castle which is a ruin. From there we head around the north end of the Island, passing through Flodigarry, before heading up onto the Quiraing for stunning photographs of the rock formations, and breath taking views towards the Scottish mainland. Before stopping at Kilt Rock we would stop in Staffin for lunch. After Kilt Rock we would call at Lealt Falls. A final photo stop at the Old Man of Storr will be our last stop before returning to Portree.

Inclusions: Maps of the area are handed out on the coach.

Exclusions: Lunch, Entrance fees.
