Reviewed By clarkb618We were so lucky to find Las Churapas hotel in San Jose de Chiquitos! The owners, Johan and Aidee, were super welcoming and full of interesting cultural history and facts about the Chiquitos region, and about San Jose in particular (they're both local to the region). Aidee taught us all about San Jose's ubiquitous "Abuelo masks", and Johan volunteered to go with us to the Santa Cruz la Vieja archaeological site and the viewpoint on the Rocky bluff above to share his (extensive) knowledge. On top of all of this hospitality, we found the bed to be one of the most comfortable of our 1+ year long trip in South America, and the breakfast by the pool was nice with a good selection of items, including a regional home made cheese bread made his mother in the oven out back. It is an easy few block walk (~ 5-10 mins) to the town center, but well worth it for the experience of staying at Las Churapas.

Reviewed By Andrea2222222I had never feel better in a hotel in Bolivia. The rooms and beautiful, The pool, sauna, restaurants are great. The people who work in this hotel...are real diamants! They really try to make me and my sister feel like we're at home. Even if they don't know the answer they will try to find the information and help some way... I will absolutely recommend this place and I would like to return soon.
