Award winning boutique hotel in the beautiful town of Risør on Norway's south coast. The hotel has 14 comfortable suites each with a unique maritime theme. There are 10 suites in the centre of the town and four suites ten minutes walk from the centre, in a beautifully restored wooden building from 1750.All suites have kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Breakfast, WiFi and parking are all included in the room price. Bikes are available for guests to borrow, there is an outdoor pool in summer, and boat rental is available.
Comfortable history!
Reviewed By tbr2016This was our third visit to Risør, this time staying in the NAL suite, as my husband had travelled on those ships as a child. The décor was historic, but both kitchen and bath were modern in function. Breakfasts were both tasty and ample. As always, manager David made our visit both comfortable and memorable. Since we were to be there for the Trebåt Festival, and my husband used to sail, I had asked if David if it might be possible for him take a short trip on a wooden sailing ship. When we arrived, David had arranged for him to crew on a ship in the regatta!! Definitely NOT our last visit!

Welcome to our resort. We have rooms, cabins and boats for rent. Open all year. We are located by the lovely "Sandnesfjord", in southern Norway. Between the wooden-house-city of Risor and Lyngor, the Island gem. Between Kristiansand and Larvik. Beautiful area for fishing, hiking and complete relaxation. We are more than happy if you ask us for advise.
Family friendly but worn and in need of an upgrade
Reviewed By Coastal52361793799The facility is located 20 mins outside of Risør along a narrow road. Our cabin was a 3 room, which was pretty worn. The bathroom was probably from the 70s although well taken care of. All heating provided by wall mounted electric heaters in all rooms, the tiled floor in the living room felt pretty cold when the temperatures dropped in the afternoon. The outside of the cabin was not maintained properly, the terrace flooring had probably not been painted for some years and was both worn and started to rot. Weeds were growing in both the terrace and driveway. The outside of the cabin itself was also in need of a coat of paint. The kitchen had been upgraded recently and was nice, and the other facilities (pool, beach, restaurant) was also on the positive side, although you had to pay 60kr to use the pool even though we paid close to 2500kr per night for the cabin. This should have been free and felt cheap from the vacation centers side.

Risør Hotel is located in the charming district of Tangen, among the old wooden houses. Right by the sea, with a view of Risør's beautiful skerries. Risør Hotel has an extensive history, parts of the hotel were built as early as 1861 in the empire style of the time. The hotel has 32 pleasant rooms with bathroom and TV, some with sea views. A personal hotel with a warm atmosphere and a nice host. In the hotel's own cozy restaurant you can enjoy delicious dishes, or relax on the terrace with sea views. The hotel is suitable for meetings, conferences and parties with the facilities and technical equipment needed for conference guests.
Poor service
Reviewed By alkoefoedBooked two double rooms (4 people). Made the mistake not to check the rooms before heading out. Coming back after dinner, we discover that one room only has one pillow/comforter. Hotel reception is gone for the night and answer machine gives no phone# to call. Nights are cold in Norway, so slept in jacket and fully dressed. Next day, reception staff apologize for mistake and says that we will be refunded for the room. In days that follow, the hotel refunds only 15% , arguing that they reduced the room price from 2 to 1 person. Makes no sense and does not compensate for the inconvenience.

Trivelig sted litt utenfor Risør sentrum
Reviewed By agnordbySuper-trivelig bed & breakfast i et stille område en halvtimes spasertur fra Risør sentrum. Det er også en strand like i nærheten, ca ti minuttet å gå. Lyse og trivelige rom med adgang til felles bad. Dagen startes med en nydelig frokost. Hit kommer jeg gjerne tilbake.

Nice and quiet place !
Reviewed By Vincent WThe cabin at Risor Gjestehus was great (well equipped and clean, the best of 7 cabins that we had during our holidays) and is nicely located next to a quiet cove (boats can be hired). To be recommended !
