Welcome to the Manoir des Eperviers ( Hawk's Manor), typically Breton building, built under the East India Company in 1767. You will love this guest house in South Brittany full of charm, located near the seaside of Morbihan and Lorient.Reparti 4 recently renovated buildings, the first is occupied by the owners. While in the other 3 buildings you will find all our rooms, common area and wellness center with indoor pool, sauna, hammam
We stayed there for one night for a weekend. The decoration was nice but the couple was not friendly at all. It is funny to choose this kind of job and not knowing how to welcome people and make then feel comfortable. We had a severe look and they made us understood we did a big mistake when we first entered by the wrong door. We arrived by the back instead of by the front of the house because we didn’t read the message sent by them in the morning telling us to enter by the front door. I mean we are there to relax and have fun not to be reprimanded by stressed people because we didn’t follow the rules of the house! Then we found the owners to be very cold. When we tried to chat with them, especially with the lady who took care of us for breakfast she was not warm at all, responding with a curt tone. We were few to stay in this house and we all were very surprised and had the same feeling. But out of this, the food of the breakfast was amazing, all fresh and handmade and the room was good too. It is just this experience which ruined everything. I mean if you don’t like people why are you a host after all? People don’t always get things straight away and what? They are not here to be told off but to have a nice time. That is even more important than the decoration! It was as if we were bothering the host with our presence. They have to learn more about hosting! Especially people who are used to travel.

This place is ideal, as the city of Lorient is a 10 mins drive. We stayed in an modern 2 bedroom apartment during the annual international celtic festival. Although we had a broken shower head and had to drag our heavy baggages from the car park to the apartment, which is not practical, it was a pleasant stay. The gardens are maintained, apartments spacious and clean and more so reasonably quiet. The tv is for hire at a reasonable weekly rate. The swimming pool was no great treat as the water was not a pleasant temperature. They offer a bread service which is handy although there is a large supermarket in the village of Queven. Wifi is available in the public areas such as Reception and the areas surrounding it. There are many places one can visit using this as base- Carnac, Quiberon, Concarneau and the historic Submarine base. Friendly staff although inefficient.

We stayed here just 1 night and were delighted to have discovered it. Stayed in the 'Chambre Romantique' which is beautifully and tastefully decorated, lovely big window which made the room bright and airy. Free wifi in the room was a bonus for us. I would add that in our room there was a door between bedroom & bathroom (which was was a generous size) and that there is a soap dispenser in the shower cubicle. The owner is a very friendly lady who made us feel very welcome. We had breakfast here but not dinner, although the restaurant and menu did look very good. The location is an unusual one, close to some main roads (though was quiet despite this proximity) however the location was perfect for our purposes. Would not hesitate to recommend this little hotel.
