We really liked our time at the Husky Lodge. The dogs are so friendly and playful and clever. The rooms were nice and the restaurant was lovely, with good food. We also really enjoyed the sauna and the staff at reception was very helpful. Our one disappointment was that the husky 2-hour activity - the main reason we came and stayed here - was in German only, so we understood nothing. And sadly two ladies who did the activity spoke English but made minimum effort to translate for us despite our request, just enough that we know what to do and not disrupt others. This is Switzerland so if not English than at least French translation should be offered - it is an official language here after all. So that spoiled a bit the experience, but other than that it was a lovely place and super dogs!

We had a room with a balcony and nice ensuite and a clever use of timber to give the room a Swiss chalet feel. The view was excellent accross the lake to snow covered mountains (the afternoon sun was a problem till we lowered the canvas awning.) The location is high up a hill so you need to be reasonably fit and allow 15 minutes to haul your suitcases up from the ferry. The hotel has some quirky features which give it character. Would we stay there again? Definitely. Reasonable price by Swiss standards

Handcrafted areas and artifacts of the past are part of the enduring charm of this B&B. Private rooms with bath, a wondrous view from both the yard and the second floor patio enhance the stay. Breakfast is typical Swiss with more than enough variety, plentiful and of top quality. Plenty of things to do outdoors for the kids; trampoline, soccer, and more. Nights are incredibly peaceful and the air divine. The best part of the stay is meeting the Betscharts and their children. Nearby, across the river, the town and other delights beckon. Restaurants offer Swiss cuisine and some nighttime activity. Hiking trails are close by and a visit to the Victorianox Knife factory is a must, especially for quality kitchen knives. Closeby is the Stoos Stanseilbahn, one of the steepest cog wheel railways in all Europe, which takes one to the top of the mountain nearby. I recommend more than one night if possible, just to unwind and relax.
