Research what is open on the days you are visiting between the slopes, snow tubing, restaurants, store hours, all of it. It changes from day to day. The food options in the hotel are so overly priced for what’s worse than fast food standards. If you want anything decent, you’ll have to leave the hotel. The hours of the places within the hotel are ridiculous too, they close between 5 and 7pm. The pool was murky and there were clumps of hair floating around, dirt, mud and all kinds of gross stuff allover the floor surrounding the pool. My kids didn’t even want to swim again after one night of hanging out at the pool. The tub/shower in our room was clogged and it would flood up when we tried to shower for a couple of minutes and the water barely got warm. When we arrived in our room, the floor definitely hadn’t been vacuumed; there were remnants of food from the previous people on the floor. When I made the reservation online it said that we would get one free lift ticket or a free lesson and when I inquired about it over the phone after I booked our reservation, they said no, that wasn’t right. No housekeeping at all. Mostly kids that work here so there doesn’t seem to be a lot of pride in job performance or attention to detail. This place is not worth the money it charges, not even close. I suggest spending your money somewhere else if you are staying for more than one night.

The Lake Pointe Inn is a romantic couples resort (Not suitable for children), in the Lake Pointe community at McHenry, Maryland, is perched at water's edge on Deep Creek Lake, and offers all the comforts and amenities of a fine bed and breakfast. The two-course breakfast includes a choice breakfast to meet most all dietary needs. Also available are snack and fresh fruit throughout the day. Our amazing coffee and tea bar insures you can enjoy the beverage of your choice any time. Explore the lake's 65-mile shoreline, or hike in the several state parks. Relax with home-made marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit or sit in a rocker on the wrap-around porch, and you enjoy the expansive view. Swim and lounge at the inn dock in summer. Ski, tub and ice skate at Wisp (just across the road) in winter, or put on the inn's snowshoes and make tracks on the frozen lake. Warm up in the sauna, the steam shower or in front of the big stone fireplace in our native chestnut paneled great room.
Lake Pointe Inn deserves the great reviews it gets. The rooms, lakeside location, breakfasts (amazing) and staff are all outstanding. The property and staff are friendly, attentive (without being too much so), and not stuffy. It is large enough not to feel like like you are a B&B's second floor bedroom visitor yet small enough to feel like friends with staff and guests. This place is perfect.

The Lodges at Sunset Village cabin hotel suites provide privacy, allowing you to fully enjoy the majestic beauty of the mountains and lake. The Lodges offer you 27 Luxury Log Cabin Suites located in the heart of the lake area. Amenities including full kitchens or kitchenettes, hot tubs, Jacuzzis, free wireless, fireplaces, flat screen televisions, all with rustic luxury décor. My boyfriend and I wanted to get away for a few days & decided to book a cabin (cabin C1 lakeside) here to unwind. Everything was perfect! Checkin was super quick and easy, the hot tub was clean and comfortable, the location was quiet (although I think we may have been the only couple in our area) and beautiful, and the cabin was clean, cozy and properly stocked. There are restaurants and bars not far from the cabins as well :) We definitely got the relaxation we were looking for. I also wanted to point out that we stayed here during a little snow storm and the roads were treated promptly. We will definitely be back in the summer time :) !

For $150 a night and a Comfort Inn one expects something more than a flophouse. 1- Sing at front desk on check in said Ill be back soon. Five guests waiting when we finally called theComfort main number and a real person appeared who was not apologetic for her absence. Anyone could have wandered in and luckily we were the first on line as the check in was sloooow. 1- old spring KMart matrsses that sag and squeeks when you move. 2-No elevator stairs to all floors 3-No firelight or alarm in second stairwell 4-Stairs warped and feel as if you will crash through any moment 5-Another guest checking out complained that she had no hot water even after 30 6-min of leaving it running. 7-No fridge 8-No functioning ice machines on any floor that we could find 9Tub weird shape such that soap unit jutted into shower area . Large person would not be able to shower 10-Handle fell off of the dresser 11- 2 remotes- one for channel and one for volume 12- Breakfast old buns, coffee and juice Bottom line...Dont waste your money. Only plus was convenience to dining
