Reviewed By Sally LThe hotel location of the hotel is the best in the whole island of Sylt. It is in-between the Nordsee and Watten Meer and from the hotel, you can have a view to the both. The staff are nice, especially the restaurant staff. Breakfast is fantastic as it offers lots of fresh berries and very good quality Lachs. One can order eggs to be made. We took a half-board and the food was delicious and of a high quality. We had a suite, 413 that faced the Nordsee and Uwe Dune and it was spacious, even the the suite itself was sparsely furnished. We would have expected a small fridge and a Nespresso machine, but there weren't any in the suite. The bar is smaller than we had thought, but the lobby and the outside garden is very pleasant place to linger. The spa is rather small. Even though this is a family run hotel, we were never greeted nor approached by the owners (we saw the husband one evening in the dinning room greeting guests, but he didn't approach our table even though we stayed 8 nights in the hotel. It isn't the fault of the hotel, but my husband and I felt that we were in a retirement hotel as the majority of the guests were quite old! Even though we had mentioned that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary, the hotel made no effort to recognize this in anyway. A small gesture could go a long way.... Sylt is a beautiful island, slow in pace and a good place for R&R. If you like fresh oysters, this is the place to be!

Excellent hotel with superfriendy staff!
Reviewed By Stefan KWe spent 18 nights in the Reethüüs Hotel. The service was excellent and the staff were superfriendly. An amazing breakfast gave us a good start into the day. The room was absolute clean, the bedclothes were changed every second day. We can highly recommend this hotel!

Anything you could ask or wouldn’t dare just happens A hire care take one of hours no paperwork no fuss just hop on one of their smart cars Not having booked your dinner ( a big Nono all who have never been to Sylt be warned book well in advance if you go in season) we ll sort you out Need a lift sure Want a cocktail we don t have on the bar menus - let me google it and see if you like what we come up with.... The rooms are just perfect and so personal Fresh flowers await you chocolates and fruit.... whatever you could wish... We had a simple double room and it is more than what you can ask for Best breakfast in a hotel award they must be running for it What s different to staying over with friends You ll get billed in line with the venue the area and location so it s expensive but boy is it worth it One of the best remarks is from their staff Other places struggle with staffing which we don t because we are treated well hence we like working here this shows.... Thank you

Fühlen Sie sich einfach wohl in unserem Boutique Hotel... Am besten ist es, man kommt immer wieder nach Sylt – zu jeder Jahreszeit. Am Hotel „Walter’s Hof“ in Kampen auf Sylt soll es nicht scheitern. In den geschmackvoll eingerichteten Appartements und Suiten lassen sich die Urlaubstage stilvoll genießen. Wir sind für Sie da. Immer. Über Heide und Dünen schweift der Blick auf Nordsee und Wattenmeer. Und wenn am Horizont die Sonne untergeht, dann sitzen Sie auf der Terrasse unseres Restaurants in der ersten Reihe. Hotels auf Sylt gibt es viele, aber keines ist so wie der Walter´s Hof in Kampen. Neugierig geworden? Dann vielleicht demnächst auf Sylt, in Kampen, im Hotel „Walter’s Hof“!

Reviewed By TravelsAndVoyagesLocation: Very good. Kampen’s restaurants and shops are within an easy short footwalk reach. Uwe Düne and the beach are close. Rooms: We had a very nice room, clean,nicely done with sufficient space. We managed to have a look at three others, all were nice and pleasant. What is ridiculous is to charge 2 Euro for each Nespresso capsule. Breakfast: Nice standard, with some creative ideas such as ca 20 different chocolate/nut spreads. What is very strange is that, in addition to the breakfast costs, they charge extra for anything, fresh orange juice for 8 Euro, or fried egg, or bacon: All means additional charges. Restaurant: Disappointing. Management is constantly advertising this place as “gourmet”, and they, together with a few buddies of Kampen, market themselves quite good as “fine dining places”, but the reality check is disappointing: Boring food! Foam in all varieties (on soups, fish, wherever) does not mean it is innovative, rather pretentious. Fish was something between boring and tasteless. Dessert was mediocre as well. Surprising, but not in a good way. Pool/Spa: OK. Pool is small and not of the most modern design, but OK. Steam bath and Sauna are small, but serve the purpose to relax after long beach walks. Management has a rather stingy, penny pinching approach towards guest, which overall gives a bad feeling. Which is sad, because the place could be so much nicer so easily. It seems to us that the owner thinks he can permit such a provincial, outdated approach simply because this is Kampen, and guests come anyway. But in fact there are not just a few alternatives in Kampen, and around, that are worth to be considered as an alternative. Bottom line that may not be cheaper, but with one overall price the overall feeling is just better, instead of feeling “being milked” all the time for all kind of small things, from juice to Nespresso capsules. We will go elsewhere next time.
