We stayed here for one night and could not have been happier with our choice. Absolutely amazing location, very friendly hosts and nice rooms. Not too expensive either. I would definitely recommend this place.

Welcome to the paradise – Schlosswirt/AUSTRIA... All my nice imaginations about the hotel, unfortunately, had gone awry after entering the house. The whole ground floor had been full of unpleasant smoky odor, at one moment I had the feeling that I entered to a smoke house... brrrrr. At home, according to images, I had the feeling that the house would be situated somewhere in seclusion, right at the foot of mountains – DISILLUSION. The hotel is situated right next to the main road to Heiligenblut. My compliment goes to the marketing and PR staff – fantastic photos, a great ILLUSION. GW. Our welcome had been a little bit cold, maybe an owner of the hotel was, right at that time, out of his mood... /everything is possible/ Standard room very, very small – again on the photos it looks much, much bigger. I want to be as objective as possible, so I must say that the room was very clean and in perfect condition. As to food – perfect, excellent chef, my compliments. Breakfast very good. What a pity, no free of charge tea for skiers coming from cold mountains. I think personally, it would not be an expensive „present“ but a nice benefit for guests. Wouldn´t that be a good idea? When we were entering into a dinning room at dinner time, that unpleasant smoky odor popped up again... I was very wondering where lies the particular problem of that smoke, but, eventually, I got it. Landlord was stoking the fire up with scraps of common boards, so NO WONDER that the whole place all around smells so unpleasant. When I told about that to his co-partner, he suddenly, changed his „bad habit“. Thank God. Another day we visited Nationalpark Lodge Grossglockner hotel in Heiligenblut, there was a big open fireplace, NO SMOKE... Frankly, I don´t wanna be one way – negatively – oriented to... So I must say that the whole ambiance, as such, was nice, I got the feeling that a Landlord was doing his best to create a polite atmosphere for his guests. /maybe only for some „special“ guests/ It´s not a bad hotel, really... it has its ambiance, it has its flair...When they will fix their mistakes up - a good perspective for owner and his guests.

Grumpy owner at reception, only one dish offered for set menu (part of a prepaid tour) and disbelief that we didn’t want to eat steak. Old building but not very welcoming or friendly. Very small village.

A delightful hotel, very traditional, with pleasant grounds and lots of tables outdoor in the garden. Very clean and proper. Located in a very quiet residential area of town. Has a good restaurant. Breakfast could be better, that is the only drawback. Because of the nature of the building (stone walls), wi-fi may not work in all the rooms, but this is not a problem, there are lots of lobby and outdoor areas to sit in if you need wi-fi. Great value for the price paid. I would return.
