What a cool little shop! We bought a boatload of moonshine for Christmas gifts,and one for ourselves. My husband opened ours last night, then said we gotta go back for more! Lol! I'm not much of a drinker, but I must say, it really was tasty! So, to the young man that waited on us, Craig, we will see you soon!

If you're passionate about the region of Appalachia this is the place to be. It's a great place to start discovering regional artists from all over and meet amazing people, dedicated to bringing economic development in Appalachia. Everyone loves it, and Herb E., one of the oldest employees of Appalshop was nice enough to give us a tour of the building. Also, Ben Fink, another staff member, gave us an amazing talk about Appalshop's mission and they are definitely worth a visit if you're in Whitesburg!

This was a perfect hike for my kids (ages 9 and 11) and I to complete. We went with a few friends as well. Beautiful flora, Indian pipe, ground cedar, many many beautiful natives and large trees. Great moss covered fallen boulders. The falls are chilly but refreshing, after the 1 mile hike. The kids enjoyed climbing all of the huge rocks. Most of the trail is very manageable but I wouldn't recommend for very young kids unless you can pack them most of the way.

This is a wonderful recreational center! They have a lovely basketball court with plenty of basketballs available. They also have a track above the court. Of course they have a pretty good selection of exercise equipment. They also offer a variety of aerobic classes. Not only is a workout area, but they often host parties for children because they have a bowling alley, a big play area, and a wonderful rock wall. The prices are also pretty good too! Oh and did I mention the woman at the front desk was super friendly!

For my first time ever in Whitesburg, Kentucky, I was impressed with the uniqueness of the town and the different type of assets the town possessed. One in particular was Roundabout Music Company which had it's grand opening on the first weekend in June. The owners noticed that the town lacked a space where locals, of all ages, could come to find their favorite vinyl records in a laid back atmosphere. The music scene going in Whitesburg is starting to take off as many local bars have mic nights, showcase bands, and have places like Roundabout.
The owners have a great vision for bringing music to the community because they see this as an opportunity that could not be found in Whitesburg prior to their grand opening. This is a place for avid music lovers but also people who are wanting to discover music from the past. They also sell a variety of instruments such as guitars and even banjos. Roundabout Music Company is just getting its feet on the ground, but this is a place you should stop into because it is on its way to becoming a big hit in Whitesburg. A must-see for all music lovers.
