We had driven from Estes Park via the excellent Roosevelt National Park, then north into Wyoming then east through vast grain growing country, noticeably different from Colorado, to arrive in Torrington, earlier than expected, so we U turned and met a lovely retired couple who volunteer as guides and delighted us with the living history of this early 20th century grain/railroad town. The many exhibits were of interest, to both my wife who appreciated the early settlers home life possesions and by me as a train spotter and motor car enthusiast. the VERY early carriages and International car are both highlights. Our new friends gave us tips for eating and the Main Street attractions, Churches at one end, Liquor establishments the other, with gossip available in the middle. a most enjoyable couple of hours spent here.I now know how a Caboose operated.
