Ziebell's Farmhouse Museum and Heritage Garden

We are an accredited museum with a heritage listed cottage garden. Together they convey the unique story of the Ziebell family and Westgarthtown (now Thomastown and Lalor). It is an historic dairy farming settlement established in 1850 by German and Wendish immigrants. Some outstanding bluestone heritage buildings and structures still survive along with a rose planted in the 1850's.

Playshed Cafe

Reviewed By Jesse0606

It would get a full 5 stars just for the concept — my toddler loves play centres but often gets bowled over and pushed around by older kids (even when he’s in the designated toddler area). It’s wonderful to sit back in the cafe area (which has a great view over the play area, allowing for easy supervision) and relax knowing the whole centre is safe for little ones and my toddler isn’t about to get trampled by overexcited older kids. The Playshed however is also spotlessly clean (I noticed staff continually patrolling areas to wipe up any spills and vacuum any crumbs away), food and drinks are reasonably priced, staff are friendly and welcoming, and the play equipment has been thoughtfully chosen. There’s a variety of toys for all types of play (sensory, gross motor skills, dramatic and imaginary play, etc). There’s also plenty of little corners that allow for kids to have quieter, less stimulated time but still be well within sight of caregivers. The layout and use of areas has clearly also been carefully considered. If you’re looking for a gentle introduction to play centres for your infant or toddler, I’d definitely recommend the Playshed.
