Buc-ees has become a Texas icon which more people are discovering. It can be hard to describe to foreigners from the other United States, because saying it is a "Gas Station" is just the beginning. It is truly quite a gas station, with more pumps than most, and generally cheaper than competing stations. It has some of the largest and definitely the cleanest restrooms found anywhere along the highways of Texas. There is a massive array of fountain soft drinks at extremely low prices, along with an assortment of coffees, cappuchinos, etc. Breakfast items, BBQ sandwiches, sandwiches to order, snacks of all kinds, Texas-themed clothing, jams, jellies, pickles...the selection seems endless. This particular store is actually not one of the largest, but still offers all the shopping opportunities. On my recent visit, I pumped my gas, visited that very clean restroom, got a large cup of soda, picked up a sliced bbq sausage sandwich, and finished off my meal for the road with a praline. Everything a traveler might need, and more, presented on a large scale, by very friendly associates.
