Arrived for a Saturday afternoon on the wooded hillside enjoying a live band and local wine. The winery staff was very informative and helpful. The wines we sampled were on the sweet side but all were good. There were about 20 wines to select from but they were not serving Slushies due to band event. Good time was had by all. The owner and his wife Micky mingled and made it a nice outing.

This living museum dedicated to the Lincoln family and settlers of the period flies under the radar of Lincoln sites, I stumbled on it online almost accidentally and am delighted I did. Curators give visitors the choice of a guided tour or the chance to just wander through the cabins, taking photos and reading all the plaques at one's own pace, which is what I opted for. The exhibits inside feature all sorts of local treasures, including a dress that supposedly belonged to Lincoln's sister Sarah, a cabinet Tom and young Abe are reputed to have made and some other items from their farm. If these are genuine they really belong in the ALPLM in Springfield, but even if they're not from the Lincoln family they are definitely from close by in place and time. Anyone making the rounds of other Lincoln Indiana sites should not miss this one.
