Overkalic Sweden was beautiful and the mad husky tour guides seemed very knowledgeable in mushing, unfortunately that's the only nice thing I can say about the whole experience.
After being told to get a early flight to lulea, we had to wait over 4 hours to be picked up from the airport, followed by a 2 hours car journey in a car with no heaters (in -20 temperatures).
After getting to the accommodation we had to wait a further 5 hours so The organiser could return to lulea airport and pick up some more people.
We didn't go for the accommodation but it was dirty and smelly and the food that was supplied was out of date and un nutritional, and special dietary needs were not met, Being a diabetic I need to eat regularly but on one day I had breakfast at 6.30 and my next meal wasn't until we got back to the accommodation 12 hours later!
There wasn't any emergency contact details in the house or was there fire evacuation plan in place.
There was a member of staff staying in a store room in the basement to look after us. We did offer him the sofa but he said the basement was better then the accommodation at the kennels.
3 out of the 4 staff walked out in the middle of the night after two days as they didn't feel that the clients or staff were in safe hands and we was left to sort our own meals out.
As for the husky course! It was unprepared, unorganised and unsafe!
the owners were unprofessional and rude.
As a group we tried to talk to Them about our concerns regarding safety on the course & our expectations not being met, the response from MAD husky tours was defensive and aggressive and the group was blamed for the staff leaving.
We spent a lot of time standing around while they got the track ready for us to use.
The snow was very soft which made it hard work for us and the dogs. We pointed out that quite a few parts of the track was unsafe but The organisers got very defensive and blamed us for not being able to control the dogs.
There was a few accidents involving members of the group coming off their sleds during the week, and none of the staff showed any concern or checked the people over and no accident report form were filled in.
We had booked for the Norway premises but they moved to Sweden after we had booked & paid, we were told it would be a better experience, but the course/dogs/staff were not ready for a us, they should of given us the option to cancel or come at a different date.
We tried to resolve the issue while we were over there but was told we couldn't do anything about it as they weren't ABTA registered! So we had no come back. The male organiser then made some very personal remarks towards us & threatened not to take us back to the airport.
We was promised a magical arctic adventure and we got a arctic nightmare!

Traktorer och arbetsmaskiner i långa rader. Lite lätt nedsjunkna i gräsmattan, men många (alla?) i i körbart skick.

Mukava kokemus koko perheelle. Aika pitää varata etukäteen, mutta me pääsimme kyllä parin tunnin päästä soitosta opastetulle kierrokselle. Aluksi saimme rapsutella ja syöttää
porkkanoita kesylle hirvelle.

Arctic Lifestyle – 8SeasonsHuskies offers exclusive outdoor activities in the northern part of Scandinavia. One highlight and a "must do" on your bucket list is the Northern Light Safari in the heart of Swedish Lapland.
While there is never a guarantee that you'll see and photograph the Aurora Borealis, the chances increase with the location of this Northern Lights Photography tour. Based in the Stora Sjofället Mountain Centre located within the UNESCO world heritage area in Swedish Lapland, this small group tour offers a range of photographic and hiking activities to suit beginners and experienced photographers and outdoor enthusiasts. Highly recommended.
