Nungwi Beach

Beautiful beach although many hotels/areas don’t have a sand area. We stayed at Z hotel that have it and it was great.
This part of the island is busier then others and it’s nice. Hotels to accommodate all kind of tourists, nice restaurants, friendly people. Not far from Mnemba atoll by boat (we dove with Spanish dancers and liked it a lot).

It is nice to see that some organisations to everything to keep the nature clean and help animals! You will pay $5 to get in, but you know that this money will go to help the turtles to survive. You can feed the turtles and then you will heard a good facts about them. Also there are turtle babies. Go and support them!

Nungwi Natural Aquarium

Reviewed By bindybel - Melbourne, Australia

We came the day after they released the turtles which is great but there were limited turtles in the enclosure . It is worth going to see and support wildlife preservation. The guide seemed to rush us and seemed disinterested. We asked to stay longer which was great just feeding the turtles and watching them. There is no swimming at this one. Worth a look will only take 30-49 minutes at most.

Tazari Caves

This is amazing.
We expected one medium cave. In fact this is a series of caves mostly pitch black (torches are provided) and contain stalagmites and stalagtites galore as well as shiny crystal glittery bits, crab spiders (creepy!) and SO many bats.
If you have any mobility issues or are elderly I would not recommend this as the ground is very uneven and there are some fairly steep bits to climb down.
It's easy to find, just outside Nungwi and involves a short walk from the side of the road.
Highly recommended.
