Chateau de la Motte-Tilly

This elegant brick and sandstone Château, set in a park of 60 hectares, is a magnificent example of classical 18th century architecture. With its fine collection of furniture from the Ancien Régime and superbly preserved décor, the château brings to life all the finesse and noblesse of life in the 18th century. Musee Camille Claudel

Reviewed By fgrandjean

This museum is only three months old and surely will become a major museum in France. The beautiful art work by Camille Claudel is set in its time next to the works of her masters, mentors, and lover. It takes 4 hours to see the whole museum, 2 hours per floor. Nicely, you can take a lunch break between the floors, as your ticket is valid all day for multiple reentries. The nearby Auberge du Cygne de la Croix is a perfect place for this break. The audio-guides are helpful, not too detailed. Details are given in a supplementary audio. The works are well exhibited, i.e., you can turn around them to admire them from different angles. Only glass cases are sometimes in the way.
