This museum was a real pleasant surprise. As my wife and I wandered through it, it seemed to have a tremendous variety of stuff -- a real hodgepodge, but ultimately, everything seemed to relate to the local historic cultures, geology, botany, etc. All together, it was fascinating. I could not begin to do it justice even if I remembered everything, but I might mention just a few subjects. Inside was geologic and cultural history, a room of local stuffed animals, life face masks of blues musicians, ring binders full of archival material, etc., Outside was an impressive and lovely indigenous garden, many plants showing their names mentioned in quotations from Faulkner. There was also an old store, like the Varner store mentioned in Faulkner's stories, (though you could not go in), scads of old small farm tools and different types of grinders for grinding corn, wheat, etc. There was also, believe it or not, a small freestanding old jail! I would imagine there was something here for anyone, and I highly recommend visiting this small museum.
