Luckily we don’t live far so it’s always a lovely walk round the site on a sunny day. If you just want a cheap afternoon out take a picnic and few games for the kids and you won’t be disappointed ????

Following a National Lottery Heritage Fund restoration and conservation project, the Chapel has been restored to its original beauty and includes a new exhibition that is FREE to enter. The Chapel was once the centre of the vast Royal Victoria Military Hospital, which served the soldiers of the commonwealth from 1863 until 1966. Visitors can also climb the 150 ft tower and take in the amazing 360 degree views for a small admission charge, find out about the stories of people who worked here and the patients who were treated at the former military hospital, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery in our new Chapel refreshments area.

We were visiting friends in Southampton and taken to Victoria Park. After a short walk to watch the ferries and boats we visited the Royal Victoria Chapel, once part of the huge wartime hospital with a link to Queen Victoria. We thoroughly enjoyed the museum with all the exhibits and we were lucky to have Dave Keeting on duty. He was very interesting and related lots of extra stories. Thank you Dave. We even had Dave serving us with a cuppa in the cafe attached. A lovely morning. Nigel and Barbara , Suffolk

200 acres of scenic parkland, foreshore and woodland overlooking Southampton Water. There’s plenty to do for the whole family: adventure play areas, cafe, miniature railway, events programme, BBQs for hire and much more. The Park is the site of a former military hospital. All that remains is the central chapel (housing an exhibition of the site’s history – closed for refurbishment until mid 2018) and a few other outlying buildings.

Just love it at Vicky Park, great place to walk the dog and have a day out with the family. So much to do. Play on the shingle beach, collecting shells or sea glass, if your brave take a swim, some people do on Christmas morning. You have the history of the old hospital around the field giving you information and pictures of how the hospital looked, where the train station once stood, you can still see the old rails in the car park. Learn about the ghost of the grey lady... Visit the grave yard where there are Commonwealth graves from WW1 & WW2, pay your respects to our Heroes. There are BBQ site around so hire one for the day ot celebrate a birthday. There bell tents for you to sleep under the stars 2 cafes to get that little treat. There is do much history and lots of different walks through woods.
