My wife and I take a trip to Switzerland each year to visit the Christmas markets in Zurich. This year we decided to spend an extra two days to take a trip to the Jungfraujoch. It did not disappoint. It was spectacular. Due to rail work the first leg from Interlaken is by bus. It is hard to know which part of the trip was best: the train from Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg where we went up through the cloud to brilliant sunshine; at the Sphinx with the panoramic views in all directions; the return through Lauterbrunnen with the mountain covered in snow. The trip is very expensive but worth every franc. This is a well run experience. The tour at the top of the Jungfrau ensures that you see everything. To use an expression ‘this is not their first rodeo’. Put your trip in their very capable hands. The trip (low season) is Chf192 each from Interlaken. The only negative was the exchange rate for the Euro. At the time of the trip €0.90 (90 cents) was one Swiss Franc, but I had to pay €0.95 (95 cents) for a Franc. It was expensive enough without being screwed. But it still gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Jungfraujoch is simply stunning and a must for anyone wanting to see the alps. There is plenty to do from the ice palace to the sphinx it is purely breathtaking and is a wonderful experience from the moment you arrive on the cog railway located in the heart of the mountain. My kids especially loved the the snow play area!

The ice palace has an ethereal beauty, and the art works are throughout it in nooks and crannies, and as it is only -3 degrees celsius, they are also slowly melting. Yes, it is a bit cool and of course, as you are walking on ice you need to be careful but we enjoyed slowly making our way through the palace. This was the first thing we did and we suggest you also consider this as most of the rest of the Jungfraujoch was jaw dropping.

Enjoy a unique experience in our highest LINDT Chocolate Shop at the Jungfraujoch Top of Europe at 3,454 meters above sea level. The themed chocolate shop offers a wide range of the finest LINDT chocolate, and the adjacent Master Chocolatiers parlor gives visitors a fascinating insight into how chocolate is made.
Jun 18: The shop at Jungfrau mountain is the place to be. Apart from showcasing history of how Lindt is made, it is like a Lindt museum. There is the Lindt's mixing machine, once can learn from a virtual Lindt Maître Chocolatier how a chocolate bar is made, they have used technology to show written stuff on a book to show up on a screen tracing the history. And the crown piece, the variety of chocolates on display. One can actually go crazy buying the chocolates. Heavenly.
