Great place to set an unforgettable personal 'milestone' for having your normal Casino allotment 'Hoovered' in record time by the 'Slots'. You may have found it problematic at other Casinos with thousands of Slots to even find a seat at a machine, any machine, not here. I believe there are 600 machines on the premises of which generally 80% are not in use. So have a seat, swivel it and put your feet up, your in shock. Came here for what you thought would be s few hours of fun and a meal in exchange for your money. Didn't happen. It's been less than an hour, your money and appetite have vaporized and the only smiles you see are on those 'So and So Won' (Not Here I Bet) Banners, In history the "Mohawk Nation" has a reputation to be proud of and I find it a shame that their name is being jeopardized by the operators of the Casino who do not have the business sense to fill 80% of those seats by playing fair.

This park includes so much for families, friends or couples to do. The campground is excellent with both wooded and waterfront sites for trailers or motor homes. There are also cabins to rent. The beach is gorgeous and under utilized so you can have a practically private place to swim. There's a picnic pavilion to rent for parties or reunions. You can visit the Eugene Nicandri Nature Center for a first class experience or the McCullough Visitors Center for an explanation of how the seaway was built. Another stop is the Eisenhower Lock to watch ships pass from the Atlantic to the Great Lakes. So much to do and very little if any cost. Everyone should come up to see this. It's less than a 2 hr drive north of the 1000 Islands.

Very nice little museum showcasing Mohawk native basket weaving and beadwork as well as other exhibits. We are always interested in learning more about Native Americans and their way of life before Europeans had such a devastating impact on them. They ask for a $3 contribution per adult for visiting. The women that were working there were very nice. They also have a small gift shop where I bought a beautiful little sweet grass basket.

Because the visitor center was closed for the season(in Sept.-how's that)we had to watch ship going thru the locks from the overlook. We were very fortunate to see a large cargo ship go thru the locks plus a tub boat. The legend that was at the overlook helped us understand the process.

The Nature Center was always a hit with our kids. The Center burned several years ago and the kids are grown, but we wanted to see the new building. It's magnificent! Walking in the door you are warmly greeted and then drawn to the impressive, stylish fresh water aquarium with a nice variety of native fish and turtles. The exhibit room has a nice variety of displays, many are hands on. The bees that were a mainstay of the former building will be back shortly. The Nature paths are still there. And they still have snow shoes and cross country skis for the colder months.
