These Grapely Walks at the beautiful Grand Pre Winery are compilation shows that include ghosts from the 4 towns we haunt; Wolfville, Kentville, Windsor, & Halls Harbour. The 'old-world' winery atmosphere is special, the sun-setting backdrop between the vines is memorable, and the wine quality is superb. A creatively-spooky & tasty way to get a history lesson of a truly unique part of the world. Rain or shine! Reduce your CHILLS, please bundle up! Wear walking shoes, bring bug-spray and an umbrella if need be. We walk from the tasting bar, around the winery and end up at the UNESCO World Heritage Site with the sun setting in the background. Please note, we adjust the route in case of horrendous weather. Check online the day of the walk for all updates. Now in our 10th year, Valley Ghost Walks celebrate the incredible tales from the incredibly-rich Annapolis Valley. A huge thank-you to Just Us! At Grand-Pre, get to know the Acadians, Nova Scotia's early French settlers. Theirs is a story of pioneer life, tragedy, and triumphant survival. This commemorative site was the heart of the 17th and 18th century Acadian village that became the scenic setting for Longfellow's narative poem Evangeline. A Visitor Reception and Interpretation Centre opened in September 2003 with new interpretation exhibits and a multimedia theater. Take time to walk in the superb flower gardens and admire the beautiful scenery. You will be charmed by the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Created to commemorate the Grand-Pré area of Nova Scotia as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755, at this Unesco World Heritage site you will learn all about the Acadian culture, history as well as the expulsion of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762. The visitor center offers a short video explaining the story of the Acadians and there is also a small interpretive center, and then you can wonder around the beautiful grounds which also contain a Memorial Church containing several displays, statue of Evangeline and a recreated Black Smith Shop. The grounds are well kept / beautiful. A very important piece of history that I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

This is such a cute little spot. If you've never been I would highly recommend a visit. It may be small but the gardens are so pretty. Just take your time and stroll through the grounds on a nice day. Very pretty. Not only that but the jams and liquors are wonderful. You can sample many before you buy which is an added bonus. Their products make fabulous gifts.
