I was a little intimidated by the long gravel road to get there but it's totally doable and totally worth it! I've driven it in a Subaru and minivan and had no problems, road is well maintained. I parked about a mile from the trailhead because there was a downed tree - I could probably drive under it but didn't want to risk getting stuck (forgot my chain saw). I didn't hit snow/ice, but I did going up to Emile Shelter campground and had to turn around. The hike is short, about 0.33 miles one way, ground is secure/minimal rocks and roots, uphill most of the way there. It is really fun to go behind the falls! If you're adventurous, you can journey off trail above the falls, there's at least one more tier. Highly recommend.

A lovely view of the confluence of the North Umpqua and the Little rivers. You can also swim, dive, or just paddle in the waters there.
