Our book reading group had just read Sons and lovers, so as we were visiting close by we took advantage to call in to this small but very good museum. The staff were very good with us, answering our questions regarding the fictitious place names used among the factual. Having come from the area we were quite used to the typical miners cottage. We also found the video about the author, his life and loves very informative.

A warm and friendly Real Ale and Cider pub in Eastwood. Up to 7 ales and 6 still ciders, plus cider & Pilsner on keg, huge variety of flavoured gins & vodkas. Low alcohol and gluten free beers also available. A proper old fashioned community pub with regular live music and charity events. Dogs welcome.

Excellent choice of beers, wines, spirits, entertainment, I haven't been to a better pub in a long time, they run it like a pub should be run. Make time to visit, Saturday night is probably best though Sunday lunch when there's live jammin' sessions might suit some people better, whatever, it's a great place !
